Hooray for you to not fall into the social hype of having to be model material or needing to fit in.
In todays world, many people do not have the confidence or security to be different. Society has put a drastic impact on how "we should look" and people buy into it to "fit in".
The only concern you should have is if you are reaching a point of obesity, which, obviously, is a health problem. Check with your doctor to make sure you are not obese. If not, then be proud you don't fall into the peer pressure norm. Being yourself is what it's all about.

You need to let it bother you, if you are gaining weight that fast then just think about........you said you are a teen, I know that it doesn't seem like a lot all at one time, but say you gained 25 pounds a year until you were 23 years old....calculate up how much you would weigh! Just think about it. Be health concious, you will be glad later that you were

You know as long as you are happy with yourself that is all that matters. But what you should really be evaluating is how come you have gained that weight so quickly? If you cant answer that then maybe you should find out why and try not to let it get too out of control. It could really lead to bad health problems in the future.

Normal- I really don't know. But certainly more healthy than fretting yourself silly because you're not as skinny as those girls on television!
You're a teenager. But how old are you? Are you growing, by any chance? Do you eat a lot of fast food or fried food? If so, you might want to cut it down or even out. Have there been any other changes?

If you don't think it's normal then it's not. Tell your friends not to worry and that you're doing okay. Don't stress, because this could make you gain more weight. Just try to eat healthy and exercise whenever you can...
Happy to Help!

the weight gain is kind of normal, specially if you do not care, but your reaction is not. you should care, because it is your health (not only your looks...).

As long as you are happy with your physical appearance, who cares what they think? You are the only one that has to be seen in that body so ignore their comments.

First talk to your doctor and find out what is happening, and whether it is normal.
