I know it's a problem for you but the puppy sounds so cute and already has a mind of its own. My puppy always liked haveing stuffed animals with it. And a few small pieces of dog food. It just takes patience. Good luck

You need to get a crate and after she has been fed and gone to the bathroom put her in the crate. She will cry and whine a bit then settle down. This will go on for a few nights soon she will learn that the crate is her safe haven and her place to sleep and will go there quietly. I have a 15 week old Bichonpoo. The first week I had her every night she cried when I put her in her pen. Now I put her in her pen she goes in her bed and goes to sleep, no whining or crying and I don't hear from her until morning.

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!
1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.
2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.
The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.
After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net
Ohhh..and Good Luck!

Your puppy probably whines b/c you give her attention when she does. Your puppy will be fine in her cage. Ignore her and she'll learn that whining will not get her out of the cage and she should stop. It will be really annoying but worth it. As far as feeding every four hours, I've never heard of that. I didn't feed my puppy in the middle of the night and she is just fine.

try putting some warm water in a bottle and wrapping it up and putting it where the puppy sleeps. this may help to keep it warm and give it the feeling of being by its mom. if that doesnt work, a small amount of childrens benadryl will help with he/she falling asleep for longer periods. check with your vet to see how much to give to her. have you ever tried crate training her? puppies do still need a place to feel safe, give it a try and see how that goes. Good luck

Have you tried a radio? We put a battery-operated one on by our pup's crate at night. On a station with talking, not music. It seems to work most of the time.
