You can treat the yard, you should be doing that about 3 times a year anyway.
You can use a bait for the ants-it works well. Also never put out more food than you dog can eat in a few minutes. Do not leave dog food out that he does not eat. It helps to keep the food bowl clean, daily.

you don't say where he's staying at(inside vs. outside)....spray the environment for ants or have a service come out and do the yard. Bathing the dog will help get rid of existing ants in the coat. Removing excess food laying around will help.

Make sure the area he is in is clean or clean it! take him to the vet to make sure he doesnt have any wounds or anything also try making a circle around the area he lays most of the time (im assuming outside) with baby powder! ants dont like it that should keep them away from your dog.

Take him inside the house and shower him again, and tomorrow take him to the nearest shelter, you should have a dog if you are allowing ants to attack him!!!!!
