Madame Curie brought about great understanding to radiation and radioactivity. She did not feel these things were to be feared (even though these things eventually killed her) . She felt it was better to understand these concepts.

It means that only the unknown is fearful. So, once we understand something we no longer have to be afraid. For example, most of us are scared of animals such as crocodiles BUT, like the crocodile hunter, since he understood exactly how they behave & why they behave that way - he could get very close to them since he know exactly when they would attack or not. Since he understood them, he didn't have to be scared.

The natural animal response to something that we don't understand is to fear it; as humans, not animals, we must shed our instinct of fear becauase, once again as humans, we have the power/potential to understand phenomena. We can question, learn, reflect. Becuase we posses the potential to understand, "nothing in life is [has] to be feared". This being said, this quote means to me: If you have the tools, use 'em; don't succumb to fear because you don't have to. Good luck!

I think it refers to the fact that fear holds you back but if you fear things then you don't discover new things.
Marie Curie was a scientist so I guess that is what it meant to her.

With whatever weird thing you come across in your life do not fear it but try to understand it and learn as much as you can about it.It can be achieved through personal observation, experiment and through a lot of time.

I think this is talking about racism and stereotypes. People treat others badly because they are different and that scares them. You should not fear those who are different, but maybe try and understand where they come from before judging them.

It means that if you know nothing about something, you tend to be afraid of it (Frankenstein). If you hear a wierd sound at night, you may be afraid of it. If you get up and find out that it is the sink or something you are not afraid anymore.

to me, this means things in life are not to be feared, and people often fear what they don't understand, so in short you should seek understanding of those you don't understand and you will have no fear
