It means that we should not blindly accept and therefore believe what we are told, shown or given, but search out for further truth. Even solid believers of faith have sought after proof.
Thomas needed to touch the wounds of Jesus before he truly believed that he had risen.

Basically, it means to be an informed person. Don't believe everything you hear and everything you see. You should always be in search of knowledge...from the very basic, such as checking out a rumor, to the more complex.

I'm not sure what it means but what I get out of it is this: Don't believe everything people tell you but try to figure things out on your own

we don't have to accept whatever come sin our way but we have to find a way wether to believe or not.

believing is easy-----finding the answer the answer for your self is hard.
