He must want people to see Him and not you, and He must want to see Himself when He looks at you. He can not look at you because He is Holy and don't the Bible say something about surrender your body a holy, living sacrifice to God [which is your service to Him?]" Sacrifice means death [to self.]

Yes and boy, is it ever hard to do. I took care of my sick Father for 9 years. He was very bad with Parkinson's and extreme Orthopedic problems. I had to be almost nonexistent because I could not do the work. Jesus had to do it for me. So every-time I limped around cooking and things and cleaning bedpans and stuff it was Jesus that did that because I was not capable, I know it. i did not have enough love for my Father to put myself to death and do that but, Jesus did through me. I cry when I think of it. I know myself pretty good. I know just what a creep I am when it comes to things. I have lots of brothers and sisters that hardly came and visited him but, you know what? I don't blame them. Standing beneath the cross is one of the hardest things to do. This is why I am a Catholic though I think. I loved Jesus enough to do it and I received the grace to do it. Apparently they did not receive the same grace.

As you put down or crush, the works of the flesh, he becomes more alive in you
Your body is to be Holy to God, and this is reasonable to him, since he gave his life for us
we should sacrifice our desires, to have a relationship with him

It means we are to yield ourselves to Him daily, reckoning ourselves dead to sin that we may be alive unto Him....(see Galatians Chapter 5 for the fruit of the Spirit which is the evidence of a Godly, Spirit-filled life of a believer).

If you are humble and giving God can work through you to help those in need. If you are arrogant and selfish you will resist his will.
