There is nothing in all the universe that is absolute. Even the vacuum of deep space is littered with dust and cosmic debris. The purpose of thought is to categorize all that it encounters. By sifting and separating the elements involved, it renders it into a more digestible order that logic may identify and devise ways that it become a useful tool.

Light is "Electromagnetic radiation that has a wavelength in the range from about 4,000 (violet) to about 7,700 (red) angstroms and may be perceived by the normal unaided human eye. Or
Electromagnetic radiation of any wavelength."

Darkness is "Lacking or having very little light".

Gray is "An achromatic color of any lightness between the extremes of black and white." That means all Grays can be found in light.

The next time you question an Aristotelian two value system (light, darkness) by introduction something other than what was intended, make your you can spell the word and understand it limits.

Various shades of gray. Nothing is black and white. Even good things can bring about bad stuff and vice versa. Example: A man finds $500 on the sidewalk. Someone lost $500 on the sidewalk.

Another example: A man has a heart attack and dies and his family is devastated. A young girl is vindicated because her rapist has finally died.

If you mean, 'does God grade on a curve,' the answer is no He doesn't. If you have ever once in your long-legged life sinned -- or in some cases, even thought about it -- you are guilty. The number of sins God allows, if someone is trying to get into Heaven is zero. Yep: none. That's why each and every one of us, no matter how "good" needs a Savior. The only way to get into Heaven is by trusting in what Jesus did on the cross for us. Email me for more details, if you like, but that's the rule God goes by. One sin is too many. So, there really are no shades

Shades of grey would mean that anything goes. That's not the way. There is good and evil. Right and wrong.

This is the thing. People either believe in nothing, or only in
Earth, Heaven, and Hell. But Creation is full of Life! Other dimensions, and lifeforms.
If one were to accept that, one would get a better understanding of
all these spiritual "concepts"!

There is not gray. You are either for God or against Him. Forget about the stradling of the fence.

James 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the FRIEND of God.
James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the FRIENDship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a FRIEND of the world is the enemy of God.
