Can you tell me what you mean?

The etymology of the word history is from the Greek historia "a learning or knowing by inquiry, history, record, narrative," from historein "inquire," from histor "wise man, judge," from PIE *wid-tor-, from base *weid- "to know," lit. "to see" (see vision).

Or are you making a different point?

This was a catch-phrase which most likely got coined by an uneducated preacher. If this were the true etymology of the word, wouldn't it be hisstory instead of history? LOL

alot of people say history is his story because they say history was written by the victorious men of the time. for example, the winners of the old colonial wars would have told the story the way they wanted it to be told and thus it becomes his story=history.

Usually, this is a reference to the fact that God is directly involved in the affairs of man. He works on men's hearts and causes profound things to happen. So it is then not just history, but His Story. Get it?

Oh, that's a cutesy Christian way of saying that history IS the story of Christ because he's god. Don't try to make it make sense... you'll get a headache from the somersaults in logic.

I would catch as many really cute cats as possible... I hope that it's not raining cats and dogs over an ocean of feeding sharks... that would be sad....... I hope it's only raining over trampolines... that way they don't die when they hit the ground.
