I used to use Aleve. Doctor told me that 4 Advil = one 800 mg Motrin. Now I use Advil instead of Aleve. I have found that even taking 2 tablets gives faster relief than Aleve.

You should take what the package recommends. If it is your first time to take the medication for awhile (like with Aleve over a week) you can take three because the first pass through the liver reduces the bio-availability of the drug anyways. Once it is in your system though, go back to what the package recommends.
Only do the large dose with the first dose under your doctor's approval if you are taking rX meds.

No it is not going to help by taking 3 tablets. You have to wait for medicine to go into your system to start showing results.

you should only take 2 every 12 hours, that stuff is not that great for the kidneys.
