Yes, I use Expedia to book travel arrangements at work all the time. I have never had a problem with them.

Expedia is allright. The only drawback to expedia is if you encounter personal problems. Say you missed a connecting flight. You would have to deal with expedia not the airline. This can present some complications. Say you missed any part of the flight at all. Expedia may consider you a no show and you would forefit the rest of the flight. Rule of thumb: unless you can substatially save money (making the risk worth it) go directly through the airline. I have lately gone straight to the airlines and have received better rates than Expedia. Every airline has it website and you will more than likely get an equal or better value going directly to them. Remember, Expedia purchases (probably in volume) from airlines. Always remember there will be a surcharge for security and other expenses that will be tagged on to your ticket. This becomes a real unpleasant suprise when you are buying more than one ticket! Expedia charge (not 100% sure on the exact amount) is around $50 extra on their announced price and you will see this charge in the final paying "window". Remember airlines will work with you if you miss a portion or all of you flight. Some, provided you inform them in advance will not even charge you for the change. This you will not get with Expedia. Warning: stay clear of Priceline. They may be cheap but not so cheap that anybody should put up with their schemes. They will not tell you who the carrier you are booking with, they will not give you a time schedule until you have already commited your money. I lost over $1800 with them by missing the "to" flight. They would not honor the return. I am a direct airline purchaser now and will be!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've booked a flight or 2 through Expedia. I didn't have any problems... I usually use Orbitz though.

I have booked flights from expedia, and all worked out
well. PDX to San Diego. I have also booked hotel rooms
and that worked well also. I have since found more
economical sites, though -- southwest.com and alaska.com
for the air travel and hotels.com for hotels. All three are
less expensive than expedia.
