Hi,,, I have been wearing the soft lens for years now... I much prefer them over the hard lens.... I actually never got use to wearing the hard type.. Although I have been told that the hard lens are better for your eyes in that it will make your eye stronger .
The soft lens are so comfortable,, and I would not trade them for all the tea in China !!! You must keep them clean !! Your eyes are very susceptible to having a eye infection from wearing them and Not cleaning them daily..... I promise you this,, from personal expericence !! It is no fun to have an eye infection from this..
Ask your eye doctor for a trial pair of the soft lens !!! They all have them,,, and see what you think !!! I believe that you will be very happy....
good luck

Go for the soft. They are more comfortable. They will not get dirt under them when you are outdoors.
As your eyes change, it is easy to upgrade the prescription.
The important thing is that all contact lenses require responsibility to care for them properly. Is there any one who would not mind some awful thing happening to their eyes?
The safest most convenient style is the one-day. With that, you only need to wash your hands before handling them. No care is needed because they are disposable and are thrown away after each day's wearing.
The next best style is the 2- week disposable. This is what most people choose. They require care but are quite comfortable.
Good luck.

Do yourself a really big favor and go with soft disposable lenses. They are so much more comfortable and healthier for your eyes. They allow more oxygen to pass through. Try Acuvue oasys brand lenses if you don't have an astigmatism and if you do... try Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism. DIsposable lenses usually come in boxes of 6 and you replace them every two weeks to a month. The comfort is amazing!!

Soft contacts are in general much easier to deal with and you are much less likely to scratch your eye with them. Ask your doctor about day and night contacts. I wear a type of contacts that I put in on the first of the month and dont have to take out till the first of the next month. They can even be slept in.
