Hello:
First, what are you qualifications? Do you have experience? Have you taken classes or courses that make you qualified?
Then, you must be careful where you advertise as you don't want just anyone offering you a job. As a young lady, you need to maintain your safety at all times. If you are not familiar with the person or couple, then I think you should ask for references. You might think I am over-cautious, but it is better to be safe than sorry.
Now, how do you get the information out that you are qualified? Word of mouth is just about the best way. Friends are not going to refer some "dufus" that won't pay or worse yet, harass you. OR you could make some professional looking 3 x 5 or 4 x 6 index cards and leave them at daycare centers or at the local kindergarten.
Good luck, but above all, be careful.

Your mom and dad should be letting their friends know that your services are available. After your first few jobs, their friends will be calling you as well. A good babysitter that people can trust is hard to find, so if you do a great job the first couple of times, ask your customers for referals.
Depending on the neighborhood, it may not be a good idea to put flyers up, and under NO circumstances whatsoever should you go over to someone's house that you do not know without your dad meeting them first.

Well, there are many ways you can do this. first you should let friends or family know they may spread the word. but i don't advise putting up flyers and running around town like paul revere "im babysitting, im babysitting" because the parents you baby sit for will ask for your references and more, so what i would advise if your willing to spend around $200 is create buisness cards, this will seem more proffesional and you'll definetley hear the phone bells. good luck.

Put our flyers at your local grocery and/or convenience store. Your town may have a community website that you could post on. If your mom has friends with small children, have her spread the word. You can also put flyers on (not in, that's against the law) your neighbor's mailboxes. Be sure to include your name, phone # and days/hours you are available (if they are constant) Also, include your age and a little about yourself maybe include brief experience section.

Go around your neighborhood and let people know. Print up flyers and give them to every door you knock on. This way even if that specific person doesn't need a babysitter they may reccomend you to a friend OR in a crunch may pick you and love you!!!!!!!!!!! Have fun!!!!

Leave posters up in supermarkets, find out where the mother/child groups meet and leave you calling cards there, even at the local primary schools...once you get a couple of good clients, word of mouth should kick in.

Make up a flier and put them in your neighborhood, Give references or someone to vouch for you like (Mom). If you know of people who have children then just give them to those people. Today you have to be careful who you give this info to.
