The United States Rottweiler Club states that no dog should be bred until they are 2 years old. Do you have a professional breeder acting as your mentor yet? If not, it's time to find one. Talk to some of the breeders that you encounter at dog shows and ask them if they can teach you how to be an ethical, responsible breeder. Are you a member of the USRC? If not, you need to join and also join your local rottie club.
If you aren't attending dog shows and your dog had not been OFA and CERF certified, then you should not be breeding that dog. AKC pedigree means nothing. Confirmation, temperament and breed standard, all as judged by a showing professional, should be the impetus to breed your dog. Too many rotties are in shelters and killed each year. Please be a responsible breeder and educate yourself before even considering breeding your dog. If Yahoo Answers is your only source of information, you certainly should not be breeding. Good luck to you and the links below are some breeder education pages. : )

Yes, if she's in her first heat, she can get pregnant, but this is a very young age for pregnancy. A dog of 7 months is not physically mature or ready to rear a litter. The ideal age would be at least 2 yrs, when she has reached her full growth.
If there is a possiblity she is pregnant (i.e. you know she hooked with a male) you have a couple options to prevent her from having the litter if you choose. If it's within the first 24 hrs, your vet can administer a shot that will teminate the pregnancy. The other option, if this is something you planned to do anyway, is to have her spayed immediately, and this will eliminate a possible litter.

It depends - a seven month old can get pregnant but only if she is in heat.
No - it's not safe, she should be at least 2 years old and have the proper testing done on her and the sire. Especially for Hip displaysia which is very comman in Rotts and won't necessary show up at an early age - sometimes not until 3 or 4 but is crippling. You wouldn't want to pass that on to puppies.

Yes she can get pregnant. No it is not safe for her. The big question is why would you want her to get pregnant? Do you think you can make money selling the puppies? The shelters are full of rottweilers. It is not a breed that many people will pay a lot of money to own. Aside from their (undeserved) bad reputation, they need a lot of space, a lot of exercise and cost a lost to feed. Why would anyone pay you for a rottie when they can get one from the local shelter for almost nothing?

If she comes into heat and is around a male, yes she can get pregnant. No, it is not safe to breed her until she is 2 yr old. She is still a pup and needs a chance to grow up before being bred.
There are enough unwanted pups/dogs in this world now.
Why not get her spayed? She will be happier and you won't have to worry about pups.

Yes she can get pregnant now which is why she should be spayed. Physically she's much too young - she's not nearly finished developing yet and she could suffer permanent skeletal damage were she to be bred at this young age.
Also, this is a breed that's experiencing major physical and temperament problems now because of their popularity and all of the back yard breeders trying to make money off them, so do your puppy a favour and have her spayed - she'll be healthier.

It's about as safe as it would be for your 5 yr.old daughter to get pregnant so hurry up and breed her so you can make a ton of money on the pups.
You won't make as much as you think you will but you'll have to see that for yourself and the world will have several more unhealthy dogs dumped at the local shelter thanx to you.

Definitely not safe for her to become pregnant at this young age. She really needs to be around 2 years old before you consider it. Even then, have her health tested to see if she is genetically pre-disposed to any health issues common to Rottweilers. Check out the AKC website for health test that need to be performed before breeding.

Yes your Rottie can get pregnant at this age. Because they take between 2 and 3 years to mature and be out of their puppy stage (it takes them longer than other breeds because they become so large), it is best NOT to breed her until she is at least 2 years old.
