because it's not really free

standard advertising lie

never fall for that trick, they make cancelling before the charge complicated and almost impossible, not to metion tricky wording which really says it's not free

They ask for your credit card so that they can automatically start charging you once the trial is up unless you cancel it or something. This way they can still try and get some money off of you.

because after those 7 days if you forget to counsel your membership then their gonna automatically start debiting money from your credit card account. That's the catch get you interested for 7 days and when that's over they can start socking it to you.

So you will forget to cancel befoer day 7, and they will bill your card for at least 1 cycle before you can get it stopped. They pretend like they think you'll love their service so much, you'll want to go ahead and subscribe...but the ploy is to actually get some money from you, before you bail.

because it's usually for a trial period and then after that period is over, if you don't cancel, they're gonna start charging you. They take that information from you at the start so then they can charge you once the trial period is over.

These trial periods are really just a sceam to get you to join because most people forget to cancel before they get charged and then they've gotcha!

Because if you don't cancel the service after 7 days they charge you. Read the Terms of Agreement.

It's a scam. NEVER give out your credit card unless you are legitimately paying for a service you want by a provider you trust.

They assume if you provide a cc #, then you are over 18.

Usually it's for shipping and handling if youre going to receive a product. otherwise check the fine print...usually the first item is free and they will continue to send similar items at regular intervals that are not free! ;)
