Well, see, you've got it all mixed up, see, Jesus, well He wasn't a 'real' Jew, no, I mean, He wasn't 'jewish' at all, really...
I guess the answer to your question is that there are a lot of very dumb people in this world! LOL.
A fine question!
(Briank24, in the bible I read it was the Romans that did that. Do you have some other version?)

Well two things, first the term semite refers to someone from the Middle East not necessarily a Jew. Second, most are against practicing Jews, that is followers of Judaism regardless of race.
Also most Jews in America are Ashkenazi (German) Jews and it is these Jews in particular which are hated because of there mass emigration from Germany to America around WW2 and the insane hatred toward Jews spawned by Hitler.
It's similar to hating Arab Muslims, Indian Hindus, etc.

OMG! I thought I was the only one that noticed that!
I think it's because:
1) Many Christians read the bible and interpret things the way they see fit. (See Mormons, Ku Klux Klan, etc.)
2) Many Catholics don't even read the darned book, they just go to mass and pay lip service.
3) Baptists and Methodists just like to go to church to show off their new outfits and make a lot of noise
4) NONE OF THEM realize that they are accepting the history of Jews and Jews' creation story as the beginning of everything when they accept the Old Testament
As a matter of fact, I don't think they even realize that they have usurped it and twisted it into this freaky nightmare.

Very few Christians at all have any problem with Jews. The Bible, in Romans 11 still claims the Jews are God's chosen and only reject the Gospel because God hardened them to it, so that a full number of Gentiles can come. There are a few fringe sects and scripturally ignorant people who have issues with Jews, but as for me and thousands of other educated Christians, we do not.

Many of them aren't christians at all, they're members of pseudo-christian cults (i.e. christian identity, aryan churches, and others). Unfortunately, there are anti-semites who are actual Christians as well. A bit strange since Jesus was a Jew, also because he asked for forgiveness for those involved with his crucifixion (and didn't blame them for himself per John 10:17-18).

Hatred and racism is wrong. People that practice it are not Gods children obviously.
Did Jesus usurp power from Israel? No. In fact, he GAVE them power as well as life itself! Jesus was the new Moses that was to come and restore Israel and that he has!
