First of all it sounds like you are studying for a nursing degree, is that correct? If so, you really need to know how to do these comfortably on your own. If you don't feel 100% confident in being able to do dosing, please do not move forward into a job until you do. People die from dosing mistakes every week of every year. OK, 250mg/5ml is a bit of a red herring for the question and is not used. A dose is 1/2 teaspoon and we have 100ml, so the question is how many teaspoons are there in 100ml? Well there are about 20.3 teaspoons in 100ml, so about 40.6 half teaspoons. Round down and we have 40 doses per bottle, the answer. Back to the red herring, in the entire bottle there are 250mg/5ml*100ml = 5 grams of penicillin. So each dose is 5g/40 = 125 milligrams. That should be calculated at the end to double-check your work and confirm that a 125 mg dose is what was specified.

1/2 teaspoonful = 2 grams
1 teaspoon = 3.2 grams

FYI for your future reference, in your search browser, you can literally type in "3 grams = ? teaspoons" and you'll get the answer. Works for all conversations, financial, measurement, distances, etc.

Cheers.
