I've written my own book which I like to believe is interesting :P
It's basically about:
1-God (His qualities, what He wants from us..)
2-The stories of the prophets of God (lessons that can be learned from them, interesting stories)
3- The history of Islam/life of prophet Muhammad PBUH.
4-The Holy Qur'an (authenticity, greatest achievement of the Arabic language)
5-The Misperceptions of Islam (e.g. Misinterpreted verses of the Qur'an)
6- The Hereafter (i.e. Death, Judgement Day, Hell, Heaven - all in detail)
The good thing i guess about it is that the book can be read starting from any chapter. So people who are interested, for instace, to read about prophet Joseph, they can just go to his chapter and not read anything else

Peace be with you

A wonderful and good work of fiction is called Father Elijah. It is a wonderful book about what is going on today with the Liberals trying to wrangle everyone into this false "One World Religion" which says your God is just as good as any God so lets just have this big one world Church where Buddha is the same as Jesus and then they make it against the law to believe anything else. It's a great book. There are also lots of other books out today on religion. G.K Chesterton wrote good ones. Try some of the old good ones. Confessions of St. Augustine is a great one. He gets pretty deep into things though. Some good Catholic ones are Rome Sweet Rome and The Lambs Supper by Scott Hahn. He is an excellent writer.

Mankinds Search for God, by the Watchtower society. It divides up the majority of the world's biggest religions and explains them. You might also enjoy the book What Does The Bible Teach?, also by the Jehovah's Witnesses. It simplifies our beliefs and breaks down the why's and the scriptures behind our beliefs.

Baha'u'llah and the New Era has been standard for decades. But there are hundreds of introductory books that are all very good.
I'm a Baha'i.
