You mean "trials" or "observed trials" I think?

It's a real beginner-friendly sport, any event will have a beginners class that's open to regular mountain bikes.

Fun stuff. Here are some sites:

Just do what I did when i was a piss poor kid build one, start with a small mountain frame I'm 5'10" i used a 16" throw a really fat rear tire on the rear get some trials bars . *if the brakes aren't grabbing use coca cola on the rims or dish detergent and water solution and let it dry on the rim it howls like hell but the wheels lock up nice*, just don't make the mistake i did make sure you have a decent fork on it or your gonna be visiting the dentist.. The steel frame rocky trials bike i built was bomb proof I rode trials on it for 4 years now my friend has it hes been hammering on it for 2 years it made a wicked trials bike. I think i only paid $300 for the whole setup at the time

like the other guys said you get what you pay for
I'd say take these few winter months and save up some cash..or try used there are tons of websites and forums out there where guys are buying and selling used frames and complete bikes..
and this time of year is perfect to buy used. alot of riders and racers are selling off this past seasons rig to get a new one for next season..I'm sure you could find a good deal
and don't forget it is winter..bike shops are getting ready to start cutting prices to move on the left over stock and make room for the new stuff
good luck and whatever you do don't rush into buying, bike make sure you get what you want

u should consider getting companys like haro,kona,norco,specialized,tr... and gt. start with kona, specialized and giant they make good bikes and they are cheap for bikes within the same range. for kona look for stuff, lavadom or scrap
norco:shore series
haro:v series
specialized:any thing they are all good and cheap
ironhorse:make almost unbreakable bikes but they are heavy
banshee:morphine series

before buying the bike make sure that the dimonds of the frame should be small and points upwards the tyres should be wide and with lots of rubber studs. the fork should have atleast 100mm of travel better if beond 130mm. the suspention brand that you should look for is marzochii or rock shock they are the most common ones. if you dont like the suspention then you might consider spending an other 500$ on bomber shocks they are good qualityed stuff. i recomand a hard tail because they are easier to ride up hill and gives lots of air. and is cheaper and lighter. you should look for disk breaks but if the bike dont come with them v breaks are good too exept over time they dig into your rim and shorten the rim's life.

hope this helps.
