I have a crush on my closest guy friend. I have an eating disorder and self esteem disorder and he's the only one who knows about them. He's really caring and tells me I'm gorgeous and has even become angry with me, multiple times about the subject. But I also know for a fact that he likes girls who are generally way more confidant than me. and I've been told things like, guys like girls who like themselves, and different things like that. So, I was just wondering if it sounds like he would be able to accept my low confidance, you know, look past it and consider having a relationship.

forget if he accepts it, YOU should NOT accept it for yourself. Since you have an eating disorder, PLEASE get counselling to help you with all areas of your life. DO FOR YOURSELF , BEFORE YOU DO FOR ANYONE ELSE!! good luck!!

You know what you're exactly right ,guys (the good ones that won't take advantage of your low self-confidence) do like girls with confidence. Just belive in yourself and never doubt yourself! in fact i went through a little eating disorder myself. I was perfectly fine but something kept telling myself that i needed to lose weight even though i didn't. But you know what if this guy you like has always been there for you don't you worry. if you guys do end up builiding a relationship then yes maybe he will be willing to help you get past this hard and difficult time:) Just pray about it i did!

Maybe, maybe not.

However, this is something you need to adjust somehow. Why do you need someone to tell you that you're gorgeous? You need to figure out that you ARE gorgeous!

It wouldn't hurt to talk to someone--a psychologist. Low self-confidence is going to get you each time, and eventually it's going to run you into the group.

About having a relationship: if he doesn't want to get into a relationship with you, I wouldn't be surprised. Carrying the load for someone with low self-esteem is tough, and it wears you down quickly.

However, he may think that he can help you. Who knows--just ask him.

No way girl do not ask for special consideration, you have to learn how valuable you are to the world and to your self., What you are asking is give me a million dollars because I am poor, you know the answer get off your butt and work for it just like the rest of it, You can talk to a school councellor and get signed up for slef esteem classes but rember no one is going to give anything to you so start to work on it today

I think you should treat this man as a friend for now. Are you having treatment for your disorders. just think about what you have said about him I think your answer lies there. He is there for you.Let things lie a while take each day at a time. You are lucky, you have a good friend and they are hard to find. Bide you time wait and see you have nothing too lose but a good friend if you push too much
I wish you well

He is the only one that can really answer this question.

It sounds like you have issues you need to work on and I hope you are doing that and getting professional help to guide you.

It sounds like he really likes you...the only thing I would be worried about is jeopardizing your friendship by taking it to the next level....would it be worth it if you only ended up dating for a few weeks or months?

Yes he would look past it. He does already for pete's sake. Just tell him to take you out. It might help both of you feel better.

You should really get over your problems before trying to get into a relationship with anybody. If you can't whole-heartedly love yourself, you can't truely love anybody else

Sweetie, you get what you give... give him unconditional acceptance and see how he takes it... tell him that it is perfectly fine for him to be angry and an idiot, if he wants to ...

I think he should get the message

He may if he is into you like that but sweetie you need to get it together and love yourself. Cause if you don't no one can love you.
