How do you know if you are in love, or just clingy?

Hi,....well um, i am i guess what you'd call a "clingy and needy person" but what i want to know, is like, how do u know if u really love someone, or if you are just clingy, and emotionally attached?.........

Do you care for that person more than you do yourself? Does it hurt you to put yourself first? Or do you like them because of the way they make you feel?

well, great question. I had to ask myself that three years ago when i thought i was in love. It turned out i was just emotionally attached, clingy. How can you tell...
Well, do you care for that person more than you care for you.. would you die for that person if it came to that? Would it hurt to give up something you like very much for her? Do you accept her for who she is and look past her faults without wanting to change her? Does your heart beat for her? Love.
Or do you just get jelous because she is not spending time with you? Do you get upset when she does something that annoys you? are you constantly asking where she is and with who? Do you call her like 24/7 and not let her breath? Clingy.

First you need to ask yourself if that person makes you truely happy or if you are in the relationship just to be in a relationship. Do you put that persons feeling and needs ahead of your own and are your feelings and needs being met in return?

Love is about loving someone for who she or he is, be with them all the way no matter what happens. It’s being with someone for who they are and despite of everything they are not. You also have to be mutually meeting needs and adding something to the other persons life.
