My half-sister and I are the same age and in the same grade. I feel like we are constantly compared, like we're one instead of two. We should "get along" because we're the same age. Is it normal I would want to not have the same friends as her, not, well, to have anything to do with her...?

Actually it is because you are your own person. You might be someone that has your personaliy and might seek attention in any way possible. If you really want to be different then do the opposite what your sister does.

I understand completely. I am a twin, my brother and I always had the problem of being thought of as a set not individuals, even by family sometimes. It's tough. I know I loved my brother, and I'm sure you love your sister. But you need to find a way to be indivuals and not just a set.
It's a tough act, and I can suggest trying joining clubs or teams at school that she isn't in, and for her to join ones you aren't in. But at the same time try to still be friends with her, as you can be each others best friends and supporters, and trust me thats important as you get older to know someone loves you and you can count on them no matter what.
So good look trying to be yourself, and keeping part of the set alive too.

my twin sister and i are constantly compared and it gets really annoying. you cant really do anything about it tho. i am like the total opposite of my twin and we have different friends. just b/c ur related and the same age doesnt mean you have to like eachother or have the same friends as her. the only thing that u guys are required to do is be pleasant to eachother. u dont have to be best friends. be urself and let people think what they want to think, eventually they will see u guys as two seperate people
