Yes! As a Navy verteran, I was a speaker at the Atheists in Foxholes rally last year in Washington DC. Please check out the link for details. You can see some pics of me speaking at the National Press Club, taken by Timothy *****.

I will assume that you mean atheists under fire? Going into a foxhole as an atheist, and being fired upon may cause some to do things that they normally wouldn't do, like call out to god for help, and while some that live will convert because they percieve that god has saved them from death there will still be those that maintain their own beliefs, so yes there are atheists in foxholes.

It's certainly possible that some atheist soldiers who are under intense fire and having to face the fact that they may die at any moment, might reconsider their position. I suppose this would be most likely if the atheist had strong religious influences growing up. But so might a person of faith reconsider under duress, too, seeing that God hasn't kept his religious comrades from being blown to bits less than a meter away.
There are oodles of atheists in the military, serving their countries shoulder to shoulder with their brothers and sisters of faith. We should honor their courage and bravery, and especially the sacrifice of those who lost their lives protecting our interests.

If there's any one place where god is obviously absent, that place would be a battlefield. So I would never be surprised to find atheists in foxholes.

Yes. I have heard many stories about atheists fighting in the war. There are many online if you do a googe search.

Yes. And chances are they remain atheist. I would bet that more often, Christians have questions in times like that.
Praise the lord and pass the ammunition.

Yes, we don't convert at the last minute. We aren't afraid of death because we accept it as a part of life.

I truly think that if one realized that death was minutes (we'll say) away, that they would give God and Jesus some REAL consideration....and ask for forgiveness....I'd really hate to think someone's heart was that hardened towards God that even in their final moments, there could be no room for repentance. But, I'm the eternal optimist! So I say, I would HOPE there are none! ;-)
EDIT:
EVERYBODY who defends our country is worthy of honour...that certainly wasn't what I was implying. My apologies if I was misunderstood.
