My husband wrote me a beautiful poem on a pretty piece of paper for our first anniversary.Words were mis-spelled and some were repeated.I treasure that piece of paper. It has been in my nightstand drawer for ten years,I pull it out often to read it.I would'nt trade it for anything.Poems do not have to rhyme. It can be a list of words. Example:Wonderful.beautiful.preciuos love.frowns we have turned into smiles. The warmest hugs.Your beautiful eyes.etc..Just fill the entire page with phrases,I don't know your wife, but I would say it should make her glow.I hop this helped.

Talk to her. Find out if she was a big reader when she was a little girl. And if she was, what was her favorite book. Go online to either eBay, www.half.com or www.amazon.com and see if you can get a copy for her. It will show you not only care about the gift, but you actually listened to her when she was telling you. Now..if she wasn't a reader, maybe she is a writer of sorts. So..maybe a very nice, cloth bound journal would suit her. Book stores like Borders' always have those and they are usually on sale in a special section of the store.
How about a big, fancy calendar, with a picture for each month. Get a romantic themed one, then write on every day that you love her. On her birthday, write a special little note. Do special writing for valentine's day, your anniversary, holidays.
And pick out a few days, and write just because love notes there. If you two have 'date nights', mark those in red hearts with a marker. And make a little coupon book, with coupons she can cash in for special stuff, like doing some house thing she hates doing but does. And for back rubs (real back rubs without sex), and breakfasts in bed, and first turns at the shower in the mornings when you are both hurried, weekend special meals you could either cook or get from take-out.
You could find two photos of you when you were both kids, and put them in one of those frames that are attached so two pictures sit side by side. And write something sweet under her photo, like---you were a cute kid and you are now a beautiful goddess.
And instead of card, look up on line, the story of SHMILY. It is this nice little story about this couple. Well, look it up and print it. And after you do, give that to her with her first SHMILY. And those you can give her always and many, all over your home. She will love it.

Tickets can be good...this can be to a ballet, or maybe Bermuda if you can afford it, or even to a sporting event, if she's a fan.
Photos are also a nice option...Something new of yourself, or even a reprint from your wedding.
Poetry is also nice...You could write a poem yourself, or find a nice book of love poems.
You might also look for some nice artwork to hang on the wall...Maybe a poster that reflects where you had your honeymoon, or a painting by a local artist.
And don't pay attention to NancyKay...these gifts are most definitely for those inside the relationship...Other people from outside the relationshp are not expected to give the couple an anniversary gift.

How about a receipt of the new diamond you bought her.
No really, what about concert tickets or basketball or hockey tickets? I like concerts but I love sports.
Even a photo of yourself for her desk, I would have loved one for my 1st anniversary. That was 32 yrs ago.

concert tickets, gift certificates, sentimental pictures, self made coupons for a night you'll do the dishes, laundry, or something good like back and foot rubs.
Write her a poem or a letter.
guess that's all i've got right now.
Good Luck

Write a poem just for her. It doesn't have to be professional quality. Just tell her how you feel about her, in lines of verse, doesn't even have to rhyme.
Print it out on parchment paper, and frame it.
Happy Anniversary!

A great card with money for her to use to take you and her out. Have the money in envelopes marked "ride", "meal" etc. Have all of the reservations made. Have a limo pick you up, she gives the driver the envelope...etc. This way, she does not know the cost(s).

Wads of crisp $100 bills. Drive her to shopping destination of her choice then romantic dinner.
If she likes to travel, then buy 2 air-plane tickets (paper), then you and your wife can go to Hawaii or something.
