IQ tests are a bunch of crap and don't reflect in any way how successful someone will be, whether they will be a good lover or parent, or whether you will acheive a certain level of education. It is interesting though that most serial killers have a high IQ. I think the biggest thing to come from a high IQ is over thinking and superiority issues.

Since the average I.Q. is 100, and Christians make up a large portion of the overall population, it's no surprise that they would be about average. The same probably holds true for the other major religions. Since there are many atheists in the fields of science, it's no surprise to find that atheists, as a group, have higher I.Q.s.
That said, all studies like this prove is that atheists have higher I.Q.s. This says nothing about whether they are more successful, wealthier, have more common sense, ethics, higher morals, etc, than non-atheists.

I would be curious as to how this study was done. How do they prove a causal relationship between belief in God and IQ?
Furthermore, what was the population they drew from? If it was all college students, I find it hard to believe there would be a significent difference between religious and non-religious people. Did they include all the population of the US? The World? Since most people in the world are uneducated, what roel did education play in the delta?
