When we are not living to our highest potential or living our own spiritual truth, only identifying ourselves to that which is 'outside' of ourselves, then yes we are absolutely deceiving ourselves.

Self deception is not something we consciously wake up to every day and decide 'today I will deceive myself'...however, this is what we subconsciously do. We do this by not owning what is ours to own as in our emotional state of mind or what we are creating that may not serve self or others around us. If we are coming from our ego centres rather than our soul self, we are creating more dilemias for ourselves as what we entrust into our ego almost always is not what we actually want. But we do it anyway. Why? Because we live in 'fear mode' the mode that creates lack and removes any form of abundance in our lives. Why? Because we do not believe that it could be possible that there is a higher power within us, and due to our lack of faith in this area we will try to resist whatever it is we are trying to resist, and when we do that....it persists. Then we sit back and say see 'I knew it wouldn't happen'. But what is actually happening is the Universes way of opening our awareness up to our souls truth. Until we do this we will continue to deceive ourselves and others believing all the while we are living 'the truth'. The truth is we can only live our own truth. To find it one must go within for do to otherwise merely means one does go 'without'.

Those that sit there in that 'space' and say words to the effect of 'theres not enough', 'it will never happen' and believe in poverty and terror will only receive more of what they believe. What we think creates our reality. Our life is our own illusion that we create for ourselves. We are in dillusion to think that we are unable to change the way we are or the way we think. Change is right here and now. Today we can make the choice to change that which no longer serves our highest potential and learn to relinquish what has out worn its use-by-date. Everything we 'see' is replaceable. Nothing is mean't to be 'forever' and that includes what we are, not 'who' we are, as 'who we are' is always eternal.

The moment we embrace the 'truth' of another....we begin our journey into self deception. The real truth of who and what you are lies in the connection you have, that invisible connection we have to the Divine Power, our Universal Creator. This connection has never been severed and it is time for those of us whom feel 'deceived' to do the inner work on self, heal the inner self and take your place which is rightfully yours to have as an eternal soul spirit. Your own soul knows your own truth and will deliver your truth once to start working with your soul self. Soul Self is not dillusional only our Ego Self is.

Our thoughts create our reality. If we want to change our reality, we have to change the way we 'think about it'. Believing is seeing, not seeing is believing. That is what 'Faith' is all about. It is all in the 'knowing'. When we 'awaken' to this inner knowing, which I refer to as our awareness to our internal connection to the Divine Source, we realise we are not alone. We deceive ourselves by buying into other peoples belief systems, not really ever forming our own ones. Our own belief system is what sits with you, assimiliates with you, blends with you and our natural energy vibrations. Our 'body' will tell us through 'feeling'.

Do you truly 'feel' you are living your souls truth? Or do you 'know' you are living the truth of another perceived by 'them' as 'The Truth' but continue to be in 'allowance' of this? Who is the driver in your seat? You or someone else? Self deception is not something we are always consciously aware of. Simply put if we are not living a peaceful and happy existance then we are deceiving ourselves.

Blessings be yours in peace and light

I think you have been deceived. There are things more difficult than not deceiving yourself. Unless I've been deceived by my own thoughts...whoa...I need to go...ponder.

Absolutely. Self-deception (aka denial) is the path of least resistance. Probably the most common human psychological defense mechanism.

I would agree with that. You need to keep checking your assumptions.
