The concept of hell is not scriptural. Rather Gehenna is the original word that denoted permanent destruction. Hades the Greek is also used, but those that are said to be there will get a resurrection. I agree with you 100%, God is love!!! why in the world would he punish us in that way, he recognizes we are imperfect due to inherited sin. Did Adam and Eve go to hell? NO!!! they returned to dust. It is truly a horrible concept that misrepresents a God of love.

Death and Hell will be Thrown into the Lake of Fire.
Second Death.
These are my Thoughts:
They will Cease to Exist at some Point.
Now, that sounds Tempting don't it?
But, Think of All you will Miss Out on if it is True.
There is this Guy who has a site on the Web, he Thinks Everbody in Hell will Eventually get Purified and go on to Heaven.
I would Rather Believe what he says, then what I came up with.
But, I got my Thoughts from the Bible, and no, I haven't Asked GOD yet if that is Right or not.
But, it is in the Bible.
Really don't know why I haven't Asked HIM yet, I would Rather Spend My Time trying to Keep'm outta that Place, by Telling Them HOW GOOD Heaven is agonna be.
Hope this helps.

I believe that hell is not scriptural as well. Those that try to justify it by using examples of those whom were sinful in their lifetime does not equate with eternal punishment. Mans life span the bible says 70 or 80 yrs verses eternity, it simply does not equate. And it is a blasphemous teaching.

Nope. Because we've all been warned right now that we have the choice between life (Christ) and death (anything else).
As for us, well, who's good enough to be worthy of condemning anyone? Especially since we all deserve the same?
"The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?" They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.
But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.
At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there." (John 8:3-9)

Think of it this way, He gives you your whole life to follow Him and be great full and praise Him and that whole time you are ignoring Him and paying no attention to the fact that He sent his only son Jesus Christ are Lord and Savior down here to save US! from our sins by "dying" on the cross naked, beat, & bloody. So, do you still think an eternity in hell seems harsh? LOL great question though.

I can think of no crime, however heinous, for which eternal suffering in a lake of fire would be a just punishment. And no truly just god would condemn a person to eternal damnation for not choosing to believe unbelievable things. It just isn't rational.

That is because we don't have the guts or the right. I say, the punishment fits the crime. However, nobody has to go to hell for eternity, simply love God with all your heart, soul and mind, and you will not have to worry about that.

Why not? Why question the wisdom and the Divine Justice of God? All these things are similar to your getting a college or a university degree. You earned it, it is yours forever even until after you are dead..
Who are you to dictate your will to your creator?
Everyone is given a chance while alive. Everyone will get what they deserve when the time comes..

I think the most ridiculous thing is that you can supposedly receive eternal punishment for the horrible, heinous, unspeakable crime of... not being Christian? Seriously, what kind of "crime" is that? The whole concept is just absurd.
