i love to eat dates,, but im not sure what fruit it is, i know grapes are currents,, but what is a date? no silly answers please.

ok,, we have it,,, a date is a date?? a current is a current? (lol) and it could be a prune,, but a current is a dried grape(raisen?) and a prune is a dried??? plum???

it tastes similar to a fig, it looks like a prune or a large raisin.
