Gator tail is actually quite tasty, and yes, it does taste like chicken. Very white, very mild, although very chewy. Most of a gator's diet is fish, although in more populous areas, they have been known to sneak a poodle now and then.

The tail is not bad, don't care for the rest too much. I've eaten it fried and in a sauce piquant. Has a little bit of a seafood flavor to it, but a little like chicken, too. Not bad, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Do they even sell alligator in the shops? Sounds a bit rank to me!! I think I'll stick to something safe like chicken!!

Yep... we eat it occasionaly down here (south Texas). Tastes like tangy, chewy chicken. I like it, I have only ever tried it fried though.

Yeah cut into 1 inch cubes roll it in seafood batter and deep fry it until golden brown.

that's so mean do not tell me you are serious that you want to try that even tho i despise alligators i hate them i think it is cruel and evil for some one to eat that that's animal cruelty and please take my advice and do not eat an alligator its an animal just like a dog and a cat and other animals now answer me this would you eat your dog???

I love it. It does not taste like chicken if it is cooked right. My dad and my uncle can make it and it is soooo good.
