Two backpackers were hiking along and came to an open, grassy field. Halfway through, one of them looked back and saw a grizzly bear following them. They looked ahead and saw the trees were too far away to reach in order to climb out of danger. One of them dropped his pack, pulled out a pair of sneakers and started putting them on. His friend asked, "Why are you doing that? You can't outrun that bear."

His friend replied, "I don't have to. I only have to outrun you."
