What is the maximum total pounds I can check in and are there things that are not allowed to be transported overseas? With my carryon, what am I allowed to take on?

As far as weight limits you have to check with your specific airline. Mine is allowing me 50 lbs each in 2 suitcases. I am paying $150 for an extra piece which they will let me take up to 70 lbs in it. You can pack sharps in your checked luggage but not in your carry on. Please do not put any liquids, lotions in your carryons. Just last week they threw out my one ounce liquids. No flamables.

Here's the TSA site for permitted and prohibited items: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm That will tell you what you can carry on. It will be similar if you are flying from another country. As to how many pounds you can carry, you need to check with your air carrier. We really believe you should travel light though, so think long and hard before you pack too much. Here's more on that: http://www.mousetourstravels.com/carry-on-packing-tips.html

As far as the weight limit on the bags, I would check with your specific airline on to what their regulations are.

If you go to http://www.tsa.gov/ they have a detailed list on what you can and cannot bring on the aircraft or pack in your checked luggage.

Have a great trip!
