I used to be a hardcore atheist/evolutionist for 20 years. I have since tossed the theory of evolution like the rotten tomato it is and accepted the belief that Genesis is 100% true and that the Earth really was created in 6 literal days, and that there really was a worldwide Flood.
Every major field of science and mathematics supports this belief, and at the same time denies the possibility of evolution. I would love to explain in full depth, but there is neither the time nor the space here. I would highly recommend reading "The Evolution Cruncher". Those of you with a scientific bent who demand scientific answers for Genesis will be blown away by this book. If you are somehow still an evolutionist after reading this book, you will at least be intellectually honest at last and be able to better see the other side of the argument, as well as understanding your own theory(?) better.

I don't "believe" either one.
I use my brain to logically reason, look at the available evidence, and come to the conclusion that best fits the evidence and makes logical, rational sense.

There is a TON of evidence showing that evolution by natural selection is the mechanism by which all life on earth exists. There is no evidence of any kind that shows we were "created" by a god, or that a god of any kind exists.

Therefore the only possible conclusion one can arrive at is that we evolved like all other life on this planet. To conclude otherwise is to ignore a huge body of evidence and is not supported by facts.
There's no belief involved, though...I go by facts and evidence, not belief.

Created by God. First group destroyed by God during the flood.
Created by God, evolved into modern man.
I can work creation into evolving and still believe in creation. God is timeless.

interpreting and documents evolution is the most in attending to understand about the beginning of humanity. were the first human beings 'mutations' or abberations, or did a god honestly created an adam and eve? i'd want the latter, extra smart and logical, when you consider that for primitive humanity to proliferate, both adam and eve could be supra-homo sapiens, with wide and intensive DNA sequences for perfect propagation of the species. we are speaking about 2 persons, in accordance to the Bible, to commence a species that predominated the global. The social ramifications are adequate to positioned a head spinning, alongside with incest and inbreeding. besides, the question of genetic dilution could be studied to boot. it is because of the particular shown actuality that if both biblical characters honestly all started the human race, then why and how did their better genetic structure began to dilute into the present homo sapien? the actual shown actuality that there are already inconvertible data concerning to evolution, then that's if truth be told perfect to question the life insisted through the religions of the e book.

Missing links, there billions of them. It means evidence doesn't exist.
Pasteur's Stereochemistry, life can only come from previous life.
Mutation, causes extinction not evolution.
Fossil records 99.9% complete, no transitional species.
Evolution can only be believed if you have faith.
No one can recreate the 20 amino acids as the simplest building blocks of life.
Sex, it requires a male and female, what are impossible odds of all species evolving two complete species of perfect male and female.
Miller's organic soup, if oxygen exist he can't create the few amino acids, if oxygen doesn't exist it would die off.
The spark in the organic soup that created the few amino acids will aslo kill it if left alone.
Organic soup, liquid dissolves compounds not bring them together.

I believe that humans were created by God, somewhat after a pattern that would allow us to live on this planet. The lower primates were created after a similar pattern, but we didn't evolve from them.

Both. We were created by God but in the Bible it says that we were formed.. in the Bible we are compared as pots and God the potter and so we are constantly changing... evolving to Gods perfection.

I believe the bible that says we were created from the dust of the earth and God breathed into the first man. The bible says very clearly that he created us in Genesis.

Yes!

What's the difference?

Or, why does there need to be? We have to deal with what's in front of us regardless of what we like to daydream about regarding spiritual matters. Science has come up with a great and useful theory with practical application, and it shouldn't be interfered with because it doesn't support some people's daydreams.

Doesn't interfere with mine, though. If the universe is truly infinite, then it's irrelevant how unlikely it is that things turned out just this way. In an infinite universe, it's got to be like this *somewhere*. That's even money.

I believe that God seeded this planet with the building blocks of life knowing full well what would evolve.
