Christians are not saying you shouldn't use your mind. They're just telling you "don't be brainwashed." It would seem to me that your idea of "using your mind" means accepting as fact something that not only hasn't been proven, but in actuality has been DISproven, and is held to with religious fervor by so-called "scientists". I assume you are speaking of the fallacy of evolution, which has been disproven by every major field of science.

Ive never heard one Christian ever say "dont use your mind or you will burn in Hell" thats just what your "mind" assumes we say.
Of course use it, most Christians use theirs also (though there are some who obviously open their minds too much that it fell out) it just a bad idea to trust only what you understand because that prevents you from learning more. Even if you dont believe in God, you dont believe only what you understand or else you are stuck with the mind of a 2 year old.

God gave people free will to think up what they want to think up and to allow their minds to wander where they will. The same sort of human minds that created Pokemon and Harry Potter also created such great works as Quo Vadis and The Robe. God gave people the free will. It is up to people to decide what to do with it.

I used my mind for a long time trying to find God, but only found him when I started using my heart.

how bout god made people to have imaginations, yet when people use them they are destined to hell.. (harry potter, pokemon, all those cartoons that children watch are full of demons and will send u to hell for watching, yet ironically enough god allowed for our minds to come up with such)

he gave you all you have but will let you make your own informed decision. most christians don't condemn people to hell as it isn't our place to do so, you can either choose him or leave him,what happens after that is between you and him, not that difficult to comprehend.
