Girl. I have the same problem.
Use Loreal Mega-Hold hairgel when your hair is still wet.
That's what I do and it keeps it from going all over the place and being all frizzy and crap.
It keeps your hair curly... but not frizzy.
I have never been the type to spend 45 minutes straightening my hair. I also have never been the type to blow dry it. I am one lazy bum I tell ya. And I could care less. All I want is my hair to be decent. But just putting hairgel takes 1-2 minutes of your time and it's just fine and dandy. People LOVE my hair and ask how long I spend on it. I tell them it's natural and I'm a lazy bum and I don't really care.
The hairgel keeps your natural curliness. It just enhances the looks of it. : } And no frizziness!
I know how you feel. I really do.
And this really works.
I have also tried a haircut. If you wanna haircut, try getting it in layers... and maybe perhaps thinning your hair. Well, it's not really thinning it persay, it's really just cutting it to make it seem thin. That works too.

First and foremost, putting your hair in the pony tail after showers is the worst thing that you could do to your hair. Hair is very vulnernable when it is wet, so it should not be pulled and stay pulled for hours. That said, try using a shampoo and conditioner that is designed to make your hair straight. These have the propensity of softening and smoothing hair cuticles. Also, buy Kerastase Nutritive Serum from a beauty supply store. It is expensive, but it keeps your hair healthy and does miracles for frizzy and poofy hairs. You use some of this on your damp hair and then some when your hair is dry. Your hair will have the nicest texture that you have ever seen. Also, use a Tourmaline blow dryer. These help a lot-

Okay, I understand. This is a very frustrating problem. But be prepared to spend way more time on your hair that before. Not the kind of time it takes to straighten it, but around 15 min at least. I would try Garnier Fructis Curl Cream, it defines the curls, and also tames some of the frizzies. I would also use a shine spray on top of that (tre semme, or fructis has a decent one to). Also, if you have the money, I would use Phytodefrisant, it is one of the best products for getting rid of frizz. And, I would suggest getting a diffuser for your hairdryer. It will help solidify your curls and help keep them frizz free and in place. Also, you might try the new line of Herbal Essences "totally twisted" shampoo, conditioner, and gel. They work pretty well, and are cheap. Try one or more of these combinations, and you should be good to go. Good luck!!

One option would be to get a sleek new cut that leaves most of your hair long, add a little layering, esp. one long layer at front. Then straighten it more often to wear it down. Some of the weight of your hair probably needs to be lessened. A good hairdresser will know what to do. Another option is to use cool barrettes, bringing some on each side away from your face and the rest (in back) down, curly, full. A third option is to take a small, fine strand on each side, braid it and bring them both loosely back to meet at the back center in a barrette. Very renaissance to have tight curls and add fine braiding. Hope this helps!

You could get it chemically straightened. But I know that is pretty expense. I have curly hair and I use Aveda's product called Be Curly. It is a curly creme, very nice.

anti frizzing stuff. shampoo sprays creams. or u could go to the hair salon and they could recomend some styles. u might be able to get away trimming down from the 'outside' and getting rid of the bluck but i would recommend seeing a pro to ask them whats best . that is their job lol.
