Don't worry about the time they are telling you. As long as you get yourself in shape physically they will accept you. They aren't going to turn you away because it took you longer than they wanted. They need all the recruits they can get at this point. I don't know which branch you are trying to join, but the Marines usually work out with their poolees that need it to get them in shape for Boot Camp. Talk to your recruiter about possibly working out with them at least once a week.

No, unless you have already signed your recruitment form. But if you haven't, then you can wait till your 49 years old, and they would care (For marine corps only;;;;;; 35 for Navy) Don't worry so much about getting into shape, as long as you can run 1.5 miles and do at least 20 pushups, and 50 curl / sit ups, you'll be fine. You'll have lots and lots of time to get in shape during BLT ( boot camp)

it looks like some recruiter is giving you 2 weeks to get your waiver done so they can get their numbers for the month. they will still take you if you fell like your not in good enough shape. if you can't pass the initial PT test at the improcessing station they will hold you there and put you threw a program to whip you into shape, not a bad deal, you won't get treated like crap and still get paid to work out. go for it now!

Go for the waiver. In the future they might not allow them. It all depends on demand. Go in while you can.
