Clicker5 is a well known educational program. This makes Internet Explorer 7 a pain. Because it replaces ie6, it stops Clicker5 working. Microsoft know there is a problem, so have produced a download to stop automatic updates from loading it. Does Yahoo know there is this problem? To have a button advertising a download of IE7 without any warning that other programs might not work seems not a good idea! The button has now disappeared. Is it there just sometimes, or just when you first load the toolbar? Cricksoft is making an upgrade to correct the problem with Clicker5 and ie7; until then I don't think that companies should be advertising IE7 without appropriate warnings. Once Cricksoft have their upgrade available then I have no problem with advertising IE7, unless someone knows another reason! The idea that many people have the shock of a program not working and probably not knowing why, and having the inconvenience of having to sort it out is not a good one!

I don't think this is Yahoo's fault since Microsoft officially announced the stable release version of IE7. If Microsoft knew there were problems with other softwares depending on it why did they end the beta stage?
Yahoo is only distributing it with Yahoo toolbar preinstalled... It's up to the users if they want to instal it or not...

Yahoo promotes IE7 because they've based their messenger service on and to work with Internet Explorer.
Most people are better off surfing the net with Firefox - IE7's just started doing what Firefox has been doing for a long time.
Firefox...
Free, fast, a small 5mb download, Firefox blocks pop-ups and sites from secretly installing programs on your computer. It will copy over your settings from other browsers (cookies, settings, bookmarks). Firefox is powerful too, it's more up-to-date than even IE7 according to the web standards (w3.org).
The main reason I like Firefox is because it's customizable.
Why is customizability important?
Imagine being able to do 2 small things and never seeing a banner ad, flash ad or an iframe ad again? (Remember, pop-ups are already gone)
Imagine being able to pause your computer's music player when the phone rings without having to switch to it?
Firefox puts the power back in your hands!

I have heard too many horror stories regarding IE 7, but after all it is a Micro$soft mess, so I would think it worthless until about six months until the bugs are worked out.
