It isn't necessary and usually isn't expected from a customer, but it sure is nice to be rewarded for a job well done! Don't feel guilty. If you want (and are able to), double your tip next time.

I tip my hairdresser 20%. If the hairdresser is an similar one which washes your hair (smaller salons), I provide a touch more effective than 20%. no matter if that is someone diverse I provide no extra an 10% of the hair reduce to the hair washer.

Tipping is appropriate when you have received good service from anyone. Gratuities, however, have become all too expected regardless of the quality of service. If this is your regular stylist just mention you'll have to tip a little extra the next time. Then do. There's nothing wrong about being short on cash. Better the $25 than nothing.

Um, I would say that you do need to tip you stylist if you want them to make your next apt a priority. Most of them are renting their space out from the salon they work in, or they don't make the full amount of the price for your haircut. Maybe next time you could tip your stylist more, and mention that you were a bit financially crunched the last time- but I wouldn't make it a habit to not tip- unless you never go back to the same person- and even then...karma baby! (you must not work at a job where you get tipped)

Don't feel bad. You can always tip a bit extra next time. If you love the haircut, then the hairdresser deserves it.

Yes, 10-15% is standard, more if you got exceptional service.
Remember, a lot of hairdressers in salons are not employees, but are renting their station. They could use the cash, and every little bit helps.

Yes, you really should tip your hairdresser. If someone else shampoos your hair, you're supposed to tip them, too. If it's a place you normally go to, tip extra next time.

i do everytime the same hair dresser re-shaves my hair every month and i always give her a 3 dollar tip. she charges me ten dollars to get the top back of my head shaved. (i have the front grown out and the bottom back is a mullet).even when i get my front trimmed and she charges me 14 i still give her the full 3 dollars. when i first met her she wasn't expecting it but i think its a good thing to do. i honestly dont think that many ppl tip and they should.
