I have had a cold for over a week. Unfortunately I can't take a few days off from work because full time moms don't get days off :-). Any sugestions for how I get healthy again?

Buy a bottle of single malt scotch whisky,
made with the lightest of barley, blown in an island breeze,
mixed with the purest of spring water from a Scottish mountain
distilled by the great great grandson of the man who built the tiny whitewahed distillery
aged in ancient casks made from the tallest, strongest trees in the glen.

Pour one measure into a crystal tumbler.
Put to one side.

Drink the rest of the bottle.

Sure to work! Get better soon and take care. xx

Sounds crazy and I am not big on alcohol but this certainly clears me up. PS - I am just getting over a cold.

1st - make sure its at night after the kids are asleep and before you go to bed.

1 shot of rum
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 a lime or 1 to 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
Dash of salt

Mix in a cup and heat in the microwave for 15 seconds. Drink it all at once. Burns like h*ll going down but will clear your sinuses, coat your cough and help you sleep.

Dont you hate when that happens?? Im a single mom and I know how it feels to be sick but cant take time off work or just rest. I started taking Airbourne (you can get it at any pharmacy) becaue my boyfriends mom said it cuts the time of the cold in half. Its been faithful to me ever since. Also, drink lots of water and take Vit C. When my daughter has a cold, I make her drink Orange juice and everytime I say I dont feel good she gets me a big glass of o.j. She says I cant get sick cuz I ll give it her. She hates OJ :-)

Make this "tea":

1 part Ginger
1 part Garlic
dash Chili flakes (to taste)
Simmer in a pot of water for 30 - 60 min (yeah I know I love my measurements, maybe 1/4 - 1/3 cup each in 2L? To taste you know)

Toss in some coriander/cilantro (half a bunch?) Simmer for 2 or three minutes. Serve warm (sweetened with honey if desired, or sugar if you don't keep honey around but honey is really good if you are sick) --oh strain it if you want.. Drink 3-4 cups a day.

Take your vitamin C.

Hope you feel better soon. This tea works for me. Garlic, ginger, and honey are antiviral and antibacterial. Capsaicin is supposed to be good for your throat.

Drink LOTS of water. When I get the everlasting cold I also take vitamin C. As hard as it can be make sure you are getting at least 8 hours of sleep at night.

losing weight requires no exercise. it requires eating less cals. than the body needs to maintain a weight. also, you don't have to do any cardio either. for 6 months i was on a diet i just lifted weights for 30mins 3x a week just to keep from losing muscle, not because it was necessary to lose weight. /// i collect exercise books and i can suggest one to you that has a brief exercise plan of bodyweight exercises and also the complete diet plan and you just eat regular food. it's slightly outdated but the change in the authors training philosophy has changed minimally since he wrote the book below.its basically the plan i used to lose 30+lbs. i really like the recipes and eating advice.

I have heard Airbourne works really well, and also the Alka-Seltzer cold relief.
