I am not talking about overnight success but real and genuine semi-quick improvement. I appreciate the serious responses.

I am NOT sure if this applies to EVERYONE. My hair grows fast, so here's what I do. ONE, I wash and style once a week. The style must NOT require more than a few curls with the curlers or flat iron a day, if any at all. I really try to do as little to my hair as possible. Be willing to spend money on good products. I use a good moisturizing shampoo, like Optimum makes one. Pretty affordable and it's gentle. It's in a yellow bottle. For conditioner, I use ION Reconstructor. This is from Sally. Ion products are really good. The key is to be aware of the healthiness of your hair. If you have hair that breaks easy, be gentle. The last thing I'll say that I found that works for growth is Carrot Oil. I used this when I let my hair grow out the last time, I am not sure if the product was a GREAT contributor, but I know it helped.

Just take care of your hair, and don't over-do ANYTHING that you do to it. Like they say for diet..MODERATION is the key.

Just take vitamins and hope that your hair will grow.. It does not matter that you are black.. Hair is supposed to grow 1/2 inch every month. If you do damaging things to your hair, it's not going to grow. Just do a deep conditioner on it once a week and take vitamins and hopefully it will grow.. Good luck... I want my hair really long too!

Personally speaking, I simply use braids. I find that braids are good way of getting your hair to grow fast.....because your no longer applying heat to it or harsh chemicals while your hair is in braids.

I have had braids in my hair for about 2 and 1/2 years now...I am growing it naturally and it went from being just above my shoulders to being down between my shoulders and my mid back.

What goes in your body comes out in your hair. For healthy hair, you have to think healthy. You need to develop a love for your hair and take care of it as you do yourself. No harsh chemicals: excessive weaves, gels, braids, permanent coloring. These are quick techiques but they dry you hair out and causes excessive breakage. Wash your hair weekly. Do a roller set, oil your scalp after you remove your rollers. Apply oil sheen and style. You will see great results soon.
