If it's been two months and you've been taking it daily as prescribed and still see/feel no improvement, it is likely that it is not the right medication for you. If it was going to help, it should be working by now. You really need to talk with your doctor about this. If it's helping some, but not enough, it may be the dose is too low or maybe adding a small amount of a second medication would do the trick. But if you are really not feeling better at all, I would tell them you want to try a different kind of antidepressant because it is not working for you. Different classes of antidepressants work on different neurotransmitters in the brain, prozac focuses on serotonin. Some work on Dopamine, some work on norepinephrine. Different people respond to different meds in various ways. What is a miracle for one person may not do anything to help someone else.
It can take a while to find the right one, but when you do, it is worth it. When the symtoms finally lift, everything changes.

Everyone is different. NO one has the same body chemistry or the exact same symptoms. This may not be the right drug for you. For me it took a few tries before I found the right one. Don't get discouraged. But you need to talk to your doctor and explain that you have had no change for two months. You should have experienced some sort of change if the medication was going to have an effect on you. If your doctor doesnt agree go and find a new one there are many out there who will listen.

Prozac & some other meds don't work on everybody. Your body chemistry is unique & u really need to talk to ur doc about getting a diff med. My sister takes Effexor, but there r many diff ones to choose from, ask ur doc. It's no fun feeling crappy & tearful all the time!

Didn't work for me either, or several other people I know, if it doesn't work, stop taking it and go back to doc or maybe find another doc.
I like xanyx...or however you spell it...makes me feel relaxed and happy but is addictive so be careful...you asked.
Maybe drugs aren't the answer, think about WHY you feel crappy and tearful....for me shrinks have been a huge waste of time and $...I don't like being "on a drug" but it helps me and I am much happier. Good luck to you and try to think about whatever the blessings you DO have in your life are....

After two months, if depression is truly your problem, you should be feeling better. There could be two things going on here, too. From personal experience, I found another type of anti-depression medicine was better for me. Sometimes it takes a few tries to find the right one for you. Also, females sometimes have a hormonal thing going on, and that can cause the weepy and crummy feeling. I hope this helps. I'd see my doctor again.

It could not be a strong enough dosage. You can call your doctor and talk to them. I have used Prozac too, it just didn't work for me. I am now on Effexor.......it works great. Sometimes it takes awhile to find the correct medicine and strength. Don't give up hope.....you'll find the right one. Best of luck.

You need a different anti-depressant. Sounds like Prozak just isn't for you. You may have to try various meds before finding one that will work on you.

Maybe it's the wrong dosage. You may need it tweaked up or down. Call you dr.
