the shampoo's are more aimed at the scalp, thats where the oils come from.
shampoo for oily hair usually have an astringent to dry excessive oils on the scalp.
shampoo for dry hair is usually mild, to prevent overdrying the scalp.
if u have oily scalp, go to a salon and get Paul Mitchell Tea Tree shampoo.
if u have dry hair, go to a salon and purchase Nexxus Therapee shampoo.
Do NOT use store bought oils and conditioners on ur hair/scalp.

The shampoo for oily hair has more detergeant in it to dry up the natural oils, and the dry hair shampoo has less because your hair needs a gentler shampoo.

If your hair is really dry, try an hot oil hair treatment once a month this helps your hair from breaking and also helps stop split ends.

My favourite shampoo right now is Panteene Pro-V.
