I think of God as a Power - so when using a pronoun - I use "It"

I guess it's because of the Bible - but most people use "He"

What do you use - and why?

God is an it. You're right. The reason God is called he, father, and so forth is because Hebrew has no neuter gender, everything is either male or female and whatever is neither is given male preference.

After giving birth, my husband is now convinced that God has to be a feminine force representing compassion and love in all its forms.

I usually try to avoid using gender-specific pronouns at all. They simply aren't adequate. Too many people misunderstand "it" ("Disrespectful!"). Still too many misunderstand "she". So I mix it up when I'm in understanding company, resort to tradition when I'm among traditionals. (Otherwise, communication shuts down.)

I don't really talk about God that much, but really, why does everyone say he, God could be a She or an It for that matter. You are right, never really though about it.

I don't see God as male or female. Only as a higher intelligence.

lol i use He, because its a generalization term. like i say "hey guys whats up" low and behold there ARE girls in the group, but i generalize them all under one. god is unknown so i generalize it. i do not feel like saying it, because calling him an It is objectifiying him, making the being into an object. which in my opinion would be considered disrespectful.
