Only a perfect man could redeem mankind. No man could ever get back the life of another. Imperfection was introduced through Adam, who was perfect...Jesus, being the second Adam was perfect and remained perfect. Through Jesus only can man live forever.

What scripture are you looking for to prove that he was perfect on earth? Hebrews 7:28?

They focus so much on the blood because most Western Christianity is from Roman Catholicism. Which has a really strange way of looking at who man is, as being well, completely sinful. And seeing God as being somehow really angry at man, so He had to sacrifice His Son to appease that anger. That is why you see so much blood in the movies that are made by Roman Catholics, they need lots of blood because God was really angry.

This is not even close to what the Apostles taught. The Eastern Orthodox Church does not hold to these beliefs. Jesus trampled down death by death, and became a living sacrifice because of God's love for us. Not because He was angry at anyone.

Also we don't believe that people are born sinful...we believe they are born with a tendency to sin only. So, our Virgin Mary can be just like us, and not herself immaculantly conceived like the Romans teach.

You would be amazed at just how steeped in Romanesque Beliefs the most staunch anti-papist protestant is really. They know no other idea because when the Great Schizm happened in 1054, from then on, there were no other voices bringing health and reprove to the Roman Church, and they pretty much fell off the deep end.

The idea of the Virgin Mary being herself Immaculantly Conceived is only the logical conclusion of the belief of Original Sin.

Sin brings death. This has been the fate of every human since Adam sinned in the garden of Eden. We all sin, thus we are all sentenced to both physical and spritual death. The only way that we can escape our eternal death sentence is thru acceptance of the "pardoning agreement" (covenant) that God extends to us. A covenant with God is always ratified with blood. This is because blood is the symbol of life. Our blood/lives are not pure because we are born into sin...therefore we don't qualify to cover our own sins. Even people who are "good" sin in deed and in thought at times. Thus, Jesus had to come and be a sacrifice in order for the covenant to work.

Because blood is sacred to God... this is the main reason Jehovah's Witnesses do not take blood transfusions. The sacredness of blood is God's. And Jesus was not just A man! He was another perfect man, who's sacrifice was the equal balance to Adam's sin. A perfect man lost mankind the right to live forever by his DISobedience... another perfect man regained us the chance to do just that with HIS obedience!

Before Jesus shed His blood for us- the Rabbi do a ceremony once a year - and the sins would be put on a goat- that is where the term "scapegoat" came along-when GOd gave the perfect sacrifice of His son= and the shedding of his blood- it covered all of man kind once and for all- D

If we were left responsible, then the world would be a much worse place than it is today. Jesus' blood was so pure and holy, that it washed away our sins so we could go to Heaven!

For those who believe that the Bible is word-for-word exactly what happened centuries before it was put into writing, Jesus's blood was spilled because God said so. It was pre-ordained from the beginning of time that this would happen. For those more open-minded, it is a symbol of faith and forgiveness. He did this so we didn't have to. All we have to do is believe in God and ask forgiveness (and mean it), and its all taken care of.

Am I my brothers keeper? You sound like Cain after he killed Able which by the way has something to do with this because it was Abel's spilled blood that cried out for vengeance. Then with Jesus it is his blood that cries out for Mercy.

God used Jesus to show how much He loves us. Giving your life for someone else is the ultimate sign of love.

Once you realize this, it makes it easier to love Him.

You're looking at this from a humanist point of view. It doesn't make sense if you believe mankind is writing his own rules. But God writes the rules, not us.
