Sweetheart if the Almighty forced the evil to bend their knees to Him then the power of free will would be lost.
That means you and I would have to worship God whether we liked it or not.
Forced submission is a false mode of worship.Either you worship on your own free will or not. It is up to you.
Now then... the evil people who do commit their crimes are doing it in secret. Why? Because God has put such people as you and I on the earth. We countermand the evil that is committed by other men and women. And we do it by the grace of God.
In short: God allows evil in order to allow free will.Without this free will we are nothing but automation's.

If you look at some of your answers, they reveal those who respect God and those that do not. This is the germ of your question: permitting evil allows creatures to reveal their natures, both to other creatures and to their creator. God's relationship to His creatures is one based on LOVE, not on obedience. Think about that, and think of one of your love relationships: don't you feel more confident in a relationship where the other person has 'revealed' their character to you via their actions, rather than just their words? Because it is a love relationship, this is the kind of 'exchange' God wants with His creatures. The only way to truly 'see' the nature of His 'family' - and 'see' it in a way that the entire 'family' will understand - He must give them choice, and choice to choose or (as some of your answerers have done) NOT choose Him ... which is the root of all evil.
The greater question - to help you along the way - is, 'Why would God want to create a limited, decaying universe and have fellowship with such creatures as ourselves?'
Peace to you.

Oh God.....I had this for an assignment in college....Philosophy of Religion. Good Lord....take me away!
If God is all knowing, all loving, and all powerful, why does he allow evil to exist on this planet?
Because....he is all good, all knowing, and all powerful. He gave us free will as a gift. So some of the evil is created by ourselves. He allows us tomake our own choices, but we have to live with them as well. He wants us to learn to be all good....and by working through the evil....we attain the skills needed to be holy and angels. Patience, love, strength. God love us so he allows us to live!

Yes, God is all-powerful, but He loved us enough to give a sense of free will. God doesn't approve of the evil: it's out choice. Human nature loves evil things.

Read the book of Job. Satan raised issues that resulted in God allowing him to do evil to Job. (1) That Job--impliedly all mankind--are serving God only because God is protecting them. (2) If God allows evil, man will turn away from God.
The suffering of Jesus also answers your question. Though he was perfect and sinless, God allowed him to suffer in the hands of evil doers. Why? To test if he would remain loyal to God as opposite Adam, another perfect man, who did not.

Because Gods Sovergeinty is at stake. It is nothing more than a test and a way for us to show Satan that we are on God's side and not his. Satan thinks that the only reseason we listen to God is because we are going to get something back from him. Indeed we are but that shouldn't be our only motivation, it should be our honest Love for him. Just like in the case of Job, when Satan tested him to the point of near death but he never let it get to him or shake his faith. Its all a test remember that.....and God promises that he would never test us to the point that we cant handle it. So if you feel tested....just remember that its only happening because God thinks you can overcome it. Never loose Faith.....its all we really got.

Removing the ability to commit evil would eliminate the choice to do good and thereby interfear with free will, causing us to obey God without choice, which is not what He is looking for, that's why He didn't just make bees instead of humans.

Power of choice. The power of freedom. All these atheists think a loving GOD wouldn't allow it, but only a GOD of hatred would force things down your throat. They say we're brain-washed, but we choose to follow Christ...that's what's amazing about him. They say "If I were GOD I would not force people to do right.". Well, he doesn't force you now.

What's missing for me in the answers is a real answer to the "why?" Everyone seems to be describing an insecure tyrant who supposedly "loves" his subjects but requires they pass a brutal loyalty test. "OK" says He, "Here's a little free will for you. Now go out there and face all those temptations ..and if you fail to obey my will, or fail to adore me, then you're toast ... forever! And remember ... I love you!" Are we talking about God or a vain Idi Amin impersonator?

Because we have freewill. If you were regulated and could not sin you would already be in Heaven and have no need of trials in order to strengthen your faith. Why would someone think you can have billions of people all having freewill AND no evil? The two do not go together.
