Because in order to be a ''good'' person to the best of your personal ability, you need to go through ''bad'' things. You can only be ''good'' if you can genuinly understand, accept, and respect others and in order to do that, you have to go through some bad times...its life.

It's very possible that those "good" people do things everyone else is completely unaware of that aren't so "good". My cousin married a "good man" whom I met for the first time when picking my kitten up at my Aunt's house. Remington was a stray that wandered in, and I'd just been thinking I wanted a new kitten when boom! My boy appeared. So my cousin was there with her fiance, and while I was talking with my Aunt and holding my new kitten, my cousin's fiance said, "I think someone dropped off a whole litter of them. I hit one yesterday," and I said, "Oh, the poor thing!" and he said, "Well, the d@mn thing was on the edge of the road, I barely had to swerve," and I said, "You swerved to hit it?" and he said, "Well yeah, the stupid thing shouldn't have been in the road!" People don't believe me when I tell them this story, but fortunately my mom was with me so I have a witness.

He ran his truck into a tree last winter after hitting a patch of black ice. I'm sad to say he wasn't injured. But then people wonder why "bad" things happen to this "good", "God-fearing" father of two. It's cuz not everything about him is good.

There are 4 types of people in this world:

1.) Bad people, experiencing bad things happening to them.
Explanation: God is punishing these people.

2.) Bad people, experiencing good things happening to them.
Explanation: It doesn't really matter, since he'll be kicked out of heaven anyway, and sooner or later he'll pay.

3.) Good people, experiencing good things happening to them.
Explanation: God is rewarding these people.

4.) Good people, experiencing bad things happening to them.
Explanation: God is trying the faith of these people. If they don't loose it, they'll get great rewards in heaven.

PS: If anybody didn't catch it, I'm an atheist.

Kait; we have to have something to build our lives on. If we had nought but candy floss and ice cream, then we would never grow. These trials and tribulations are a strong foundation to grow upon and without them our lives would be a straw hut in a hurricane.
The good thing is that God never gives a soul anymore than he or she could bear.I don't care how hard someone thinks life is, or how painful their own lives are in comparing to someone else. God never gives us more than we can handle. As a result strong men and women are created for His kingdom when the time comes.

I think we expect too much from God. We are his children, but we have to assume some responsibility for our actions. To think that he has a huge book in front of him where he lists what will happen to whom, and when, is just unimaginable for me, even if I picture any super-hero. I think things happen to thin the population and it has nothing to do with whether the person is good or bad. Through the ages, we have destroyed the beauty of his creation, bringing pesticides, living immorally and falling from his grace. I think diseases like Cancer are just a reseult of our own actions and we have to live with it... or die from it. Just my two cents worth. God can work miracles, but to expect him to save everyone is impossible.
