I think the Latino culture is cool. Most are hard working and family oriented. The ones I know are smart, articulate and most have extremely good artistic abilities. But, the ones I know are all legal or citizens and are productive members of society. This is what America is. However, when anyone comes sneaking into America illegally, and then expects the American people to accept them, IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN JOSE'. Illegal is illegal, is illegal. Get your AS*ES back to where you came from and then come back legally. Then there is no problem.
The following are a few e-mails I received that fit here.
GOOD MORNING
WELCOME TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
Press "1" for English.
Press "2" to disconnect until you learn to speak English
Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for
you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.
One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.
This is VERY Interesting!!!
Howdy, here is something to pass around. I did not know of this
until it was pointed out to me. Back during the great depression,
President Herbert Hoover ordered the deportation of all illegal
aliens in order to make the jobs available to American citizens that
desperately needed work. And, then again in 1954, President Dwight Eisenhower deported 1.3 million Mexican nationals (called
Operation "*******") in order that returning American WWII and Korean veterans had a better chance at jobs. It took 2 years, but they deported them. If they could deport the illegals back then, they can sure do it today!! If you have doubts about the veracity of this information, just type Operation ******* into your favorite search engine and confirm it for yourself. (I did it for ya!)
Operation ******* - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Reminder: Don't forget to pay your taxes. 12 million
illegal aliens are depending on you.
CHEAP LABOR
Isn't that what the whole immigration issue is about?
Business doesn't want to pay a decent wage
Consumers don't want expensive produce
Government will tell you Americans don't want the jobs
But the bottom line is cheap labor
The phrase "cheap labor" is a myth, a farce, and a lie
~ There is no such thing as "cheap labor."
Take, for example, an illegal alien with a wife and five children.
He takes a job for $5.00 or $6.00/hour.
At that wage, with six dependents, he pays no income tax,
yet at the end of the year, if he files an Income Tax Return,
he gets an "earned income credit" of up to $3,200 free.
He qualifies for Section 8 housing and subsidized rent
He qualifies for food stamps
He qualifies for free (no deductible, no co-pay)
health care
His children get free breakfasts and lunches at school
He requires bilingual teachers and books
He qualifies for relief from high energy bills
If they are or become, aged, blind or disabled,
they qualify for SSI.
Once qualified for SSI they can qualify for Medicare.
All of this is at that taxpayer’s expense.
He doesn't worry about car insurance, life
insurance, or homeowners insurance.
Taxpayers provide Spanish language signs, bulletins
and printed material.
He and his family receive the equivalent of $20.00 to
$30.00/hour in benefits.
Working Americans are lucky to have $5.00 or $6.00/hour
Left after paying their bills and his.
The American taxpayer’s also pay for increased crime,
graffiti and trash clean-up.
Cheap labor?
YEAH RIGHT!
Wake up people!
"Recently large demonstrations have taken place across the country protesting the fact that Congress is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration. Certain people are angry that the U.S. might protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this country and, once here, to stay indefinitely. Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests.
Let's say I break into your house. Let's say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave. But I say, "I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors; I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house)."
According to the protesters, not only must you let me stay, you must add me to your family's insurance plan and provide other benefits to me and to my family (my husband will do your yard work because he too is hard-working and honest, except for that breaking in part). If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my right to be there. It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm hard-working and honest . um, except for ... well, you know.
And what a deal it is for me!! I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of selfishness, prejudice and being anti-housebreaker.
Did I miss anything? Does this sound reasonable to you? If it does, grab a sign and go picket something. If this sounds insane to you, call your senators and enlighten them because they are stumbling in the darkness right now and really need your help."
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and this is just ONE hospital !!!!
Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas is a fairly famous institution and for a variety of reasons:
1. John F. Kennedy died there in 1963
2. Lee Harvey Oswald died t here shortly after
3. Jack Ruby-who killed Lee Harvey Oswald, died there a few years later.by coincidence
On the flip side, Parkland is also home to the second busiest maternity ward in the country with almost 16,000 new babies arriving each year. (That's almost 44 per day---every day)
A recent patient survey indicated that 70 percent of the women who gave birth at Parkland in the first three months of 2006 were illegal immigrants.' Crikey, that's 11,200 anchor babies b orn every year just in Dallas . According to the article, the hospital spent $70.7 million delivering 15,938 babies in 2004 but managed to end up with almost $8 million dollars in surplus fundig. Medicaid kicked in $34.5 million, Dallas County taxpayers kicked in $31.3 million and the feds tossed in another $9.5 million.
The average patient in Parkland 's maternity wards is 25 years old, married and giving birth to her second child. She is also an illegal immigrant. By law, pregnant women cannot be denied medical care based on their immigration status or ability to pay. OK, fine. That doesn't mean they should receive better care than everyday, middle-class American citizens. But at Parkland Hospital , they do.
Parkland Memorial Hospital has nine prenatal clinics. NINE.
The Dallas Morning News article followed a Hispanic woman who was a p atient at one of the clinics and pregnant with her third child---her previous two were also born at Parkland . Her first two deliveries were free and the Mexican native was grateful because it would have cost $200 to have them in Mexico . This time, the hospital wants he r to pay $10 per visit and $100 for the delivery but she was unsue if she could come up with the money. Not that it matters, the hospital won't turn her away. (I wonder why they even bother asking at this point.)
How long has this been going on? What are the long-term effects?
Well, another subject of the article was born at Parkland in 1986 shortly after her mother entered the U.S. illegally---now she is having her own child there as well. (That's right, she's technically a U.S. citizen.) These women receive free prenatal care including medication, nutrition, birthing classes and child care classes. They also get freebies such as car seats, bottles, diapers and formula.
Most of these things are available to American citizens as well but only for low-income applicants and even then, the red tape involved is almost insurmountable.
Because these women are illegal immigrants they do not have to provide any sort of legitimate identification---no pro of of income. An American citizen would have to provide a social security number which would rev ea their annual income---an illegal immigrant need only claim to be poor and the hospital must take them at their word.
My husband is a pilot for the United States Navy (yes, he fought in Iraq ) and while the health care is good, we Navy wives don't get any of these perks! Car seats? Diapers? Not so much. So my question is this: Does our public medical care system treat illegal immigrants better than American citizens? Yes it does!
As I mentioned, the care I have received is perfectly adequate but it's bare bones, meat and potato medical care---not top of line.
Their (the illegals) medical care is free---simply because they are illegal immigrants? Once again, there is no way to verify their income. Parkland Hospital offers indigent care to Dallas County residents who earn less than $40,000 per year. (They also have to prove that they did not refuse health coverage at their current job Yeah, the 'free' care is not so easy for Americans.)
There are about 140 patients who received roughly $4 million dollars for un-reimbursed medical care. As it turns out, they did not qualify for free treatment because they resided outside of Dallas County . So the hospital is going to sue them! Illegals get it all free! But U.S. citizens who live outside of Dallas County get sued! How stupid is this?
As if that isn't annoying enough, the illegal im migrant patients are actually cmplaining about hospital staff not sp eaking Spanish. In this AP story, the author speaks with a woman who is upset that she had to translate comments from the hospital staff into Spanish for her husband. The doctor was trying to explain the situation to the family and the mother was forced to translate for her husband who only spoke Spanish. This was apparently a great injustice to her.
"In an attempt to create a Spanish-speaking staff, Parkland Hospital is now providing incentives in the form of extra pay for applicants who speak Spanish. Additionally, medical students at the University of Texas Southwestern for which Parkland Hospital is the training facility will now have a Spanish language requirement added to their already jammed-packed curriculum. No other school in the country boasts such a ridiculous multi-semester (multicultural) requirement.
In the meantime, I have to end my column here. I have to go buy a car seat.
(Ed: Sorry for the length, but this needs wide circulation----particularly
to our "employees" in the Congress.)

riot always happy to share. i agree they should be afraid the choice to stay and live in fear is theirs alone. they can always ease their minds and just return to their country of origin. now illegal immigrants have a new worry. it seems that our government has upped the anti and is now going after illegal immigrant business owners by seizing their assets. THE article states; Federal authorities froze the restaurant chain's bank accounts and seek to seize $ 3. 5 million worth of property allegedly purchased with money made from employing illegal immigrants - including the family's four homes, five restaurants and a warehouse. **** it's just a matter of time before they go after the individual. illegal immigration is just that illegal and as such ANY money earned illegally or assets can be seized by a law enforcement agency. ICE, IRS and local police are all law enforcement agencies. illegal immigrants are working illegally in the U.S. which makes their assets subject to seizure. citizens know this can be done, however illegal immigrants don't. now in an attempt to stay in the U.S. and lay low they may just lose everything. think of it in all other circumstances law enforcement does seize assets purchased with monies gained illegally and they don't care if it's community property or not. they do not do the homework to figure out what may have been earned legally by a spouse, it all goes!!!! it wouldn't surprise me to see the IRS and local law enforcement trying to get a piece of the pie. there are plenty of frivolous lawsuits by the ACLU, businesses and religious entities. it's not unreal to think that an effort to recoup some of the expenses will not spur this on. this could definitely come to pass. ***** full article on the link!!!!!

Yes it's definately affected my attitude. I have never had 1 iota of problems in the past. I'm older than some of you and this was never an issue for me when I was growing up or even as an adult. They were always nice, spoke English and never had a negative thought. This new group has a drastic attitude problem and a hate agenda that just makes my blood boil. I constantly have to remind myself it's some, not all ,and try and deal with them on an individual basis. It's much easier to just dislike them all, than to take the time and effort to go about it person by person. But I do. The effort around here has been with minimul results. But I still try.
All I know is the original belief that they were all good hard workers and nice people is ment more for their grandparents than many since then.

Listen, I don't care what country someone comes from. If they entered this country illegally they have broken the law from the start. They make the waiting time longer for people trying to enter legally. They take jobs from people who are here either naturally or legally. Some disrespect this nation daily by refusing to learn English. They use up benefits for people that really deserve it. It's not a white v. Hispanic issue for most people, it's a legal v. illegal issue.

The origins of this country are based on immigration, this is how this country was founded. Everybody has the right of life and the pesuit of happiness, not only because it says it on the constitution but because it a freedom that is granted to everybody from the moment they are born. These illegal immigrants don't even get paid minimum wage. Since they can't work legally, employers will pay next to nothing for their labor. I think these people are right to speak up and let everybody know that they are being exploited.

Illegal aliens seem to think that embarking on a series of criminal acts will somehow catapult them into some type of financial security, they are intentionally choosing a life of crime over a life of nobility and respect and at the same time they are acting like they are the ones that are being put out. There are many Americans of latino decent that are completely aware of the negative impact that these criminals are having in regards to how law abiding people from around the world now look at them.

Absolutely. That's why I don't understand why LEGAL Latinos aren't against ILLEGAL aliens. The illegals are the ones that are putting Latinos in a bad light, and pretty soon, they'll all get lumped in together and given the boot (or worse). Maybe then they'll realize that they should've taken a stand against lawbreaking...

Not exactly. It doesn't take illegal immigration to make Whites look at Mestizos that way. The thing about illegal immigrants isn't that they are somehow inferior to other Mestizos. The thing about illegal immigrants is that they broke the law in coming into your country, and hence they are criminals. It is proper for the police to arrest criminals. It is proper for the courts to punish criminals. It is proper for the regular armed forces of your country to destroy a criminal invasion from a foreign country. No stupid weasle-worded propaganda from pro-illegals can obscure those facts.

I dont think so. I would suppose it depends on where you live and how that particular town/city is suffering because of illegal immigration.

Personally, I don't pay attention to all the fuss about migrants and immigrants. There are those who say - but they're taking away jobs from the Americans, blah blah blah... but... I know plenty of Americans who don't want those jobs, or any other job, because they are just too lazy to work and would rather collect welfare - and so I'm glad someone is doing those jobs, no matter what their citizenship status.

Hmm... I think some American's do. I, for instance, was never raised to be racict but... (even without anyone driving those ideas into my head) I did NOT like hispanics in college. The reason being is because they hung out in their own ALL hispanic clique, spoke Spanish all of the time, so no one could understand them. I had one hispanic friend, but I quickly learned that he was only my friend when his other fellow hispanic friends weren't around. I tried to say hi whenever he was with them, but he just ignored me like I wasn't there. I mean, the black kids in my town hung out with everyone, as did the asian kids. But NEVER the hispanic kids. They thought they were too good to hang out with other people. I think that is the attitude that earns them their disdain and dis-respect.
