I don't think that is true look at great writers like G.K Chesterton, C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkein.. all well educated men and they had great faith. C.S. Lewis changed from an atheist to a Christian after he had become a professor.

Probably because they were never actually Christians before they became educated. Your question requires clarification. What exactly do you mean by "educated"? Some of the best educated people in the world became Christians after being educated - St. Paul and C.S. Lewis come to mind. One's level of education has little to do with one becoming a Christian. There's no indication in the Bible that Jesus himself possessed a high level of education. Faith, discernment, and the intervention of the Holy Spirit are what makes one a true Christian.

Hi there,

I am also an aetheist. A lot of theology students have to produce evidence for example, the existence of God and because many have to ponder this question for three years or more, there is not one that can prove his existence when math counteracts any claim that God exists unless he is considered to be the universe and not a human-entity that people are so deluded to think that there is any such thing.

Instead, students have to rely upon metaphysical explanations to prove the existence of God so that means they have to use their imaginations to prove his existence! - there can never be a god, only ever a bible and set of beleifs to prove his existence. But this isn't proof of his existence.

I also think that after people become educated, they are made aware of the fact, that there can be no God without math as math proves the existence of the universe, but no God. There is a lot of money in religion and this is not why people choose not to become religious, it is just they become more enlightened to the real facts that he really only exists in the immagination and a need to beleive in something greater than the self.

Also, if Christian leaders can justify peadophilia, then why would any sane person want to become members of the christian faith?

Hope this has answered your question?

I think that is a "story" that atheists like to tell, if you will notice atheists are so full of themselves that there is generally no room for anything else in their heads. They have no imagination, no wonder, no openess. They become bitter and mean spirited, and arrogant. Next thing you know, they are looking down their noses at happy, spontaneous, joyful people and thinking because they have faith in something so simple as the Gospel, they must be "less" than the dry dead educated sticks. It makes the atheists feel superior and numbs the loss of joy for them.

God put education into the Earth to test them and to try their faith. Like fossils. But the truly faithful can overcome obstacles like that and prove that it is possible to remain stupid against all the odds. Most don't bother trying.

My faith has only grown since I have been studying more. I love to read books like Lee Strobel writes..The case for Christ and The case for Creator and The case for faith..because they tell testimonials ...what happened in people's life when they got faith.

Of course there are the times of doubt. But I put my faith in Christ. And I do not have to understand my Lord's business totally to run some errands for Him.

Look at Pope John Paul II. Very few people were more educated then him. How many languages did he speak?

I think it's because you learn so many alternative philosophies in higher education, and you learn their history, and you see that they are just as valid as the ideology you grew up with. It makes you have a more open mind.

I am still a Christian, but I have learned to integrate other beliefs into my own and to be more accepting of differences.

That isn't true. I know many people whose belief came after college. My own has been strengthened tremendously but the scientific literature I enjoy reading.

I would counter that the ones who stop thinking are those who believe an ape can turn into a man despite the complete lack of scientific evidence to suggest this ever happened.
