At the very least she should wait. Unless she wants Irish twins, she should wait to let her body to recover (about 6 months)
(Irish twins is a rather demeaning term for children who are who are both within a year of each other. It derives from the Irish and their Catholic beliefs about birth control.)

Usually, the healthiest thing to do is to wait for about 40 days. It will give her some time to her body to recover from the delivery (her uterus will be shrinking back to its pre-pregnancy size during that time and her internal organs going back to their original position).
Having sex too soon would interfere with that process, could be painful for her (since her lubrication may not be good enough yet) an depending on the way she delivered could be some more complications (C-section: she could be sensitive to some movements or even touch. Vaginal birth: depending on her body capacity to heal, or if she got an episiotomy) could take a little more or less than 40 days.
For being sure, she should get a follow up done by her doctor after 6 weeks.

I think you are suppose to wait until your 6 week check up, but I had sex when I stopped bleeding around 3 weeks, tell your friend to be careful though as she could fall pregnant so use contraception!!!
also if your friend had stitches I would wait until they are healed (this will be checked at 6 week check), I had stitches with my first child and no way would I have sex until they were completly healed

Yes. She isnt healed completely and could get an infection. Most docs recommend waiting 6 wks which is when they should have their postpartum checkup. At that appointment the doc will give her birth control if she wants it, so If she chooses to have sex before then they need to wear a condom or she could get pregnant again.

Her Dr. should answer this question. My Dr. (2 years ago when I had my son) told me to wait at least 6 weeks. You wouldn't want to tear something by having sex too soon. Ouch!

They usually like for you to wait until your 6 week check up, but if there is no unusual bleeding or pain, it might be OK, but don't to forget to protect against getting pregnant again.
