someone said I shoud have butterd the crockpot. all the rice in the crock pot was done, maybe it was the rice that stuck to the edges of the crockpot that was crunchy.

This is exactly why I don't cook rice in my slow cooker...Without a ton of liquid, the rice won't get all the way cooked, but if you add in a bunch, it will find a way to absorb all of it, and you'll be stuck with a glutinous blob.

I highly recommend that you just cook your rice on the stove, and toss it in at the last minute.

Sounds like it wasn't moist enough and the rice dried out. If most of the rice is cooked than don't stir it together and remove the dry rice as much as possible - should still be edible and next time add more liquid about 1/2 way through the cook cycle.

It sounds like there wasn't enough liquid for the rice to absorb.

You did not have enough water. So rice came out crunchy.

Either you didn't have enough water, or it didn't cook long enough. I never mess with low or medium heat....I go for high.

did you have enough water in there? or maybe it was over cooked
