The best piece of advice is too first set some goals for yourself. Be realistic about them. None of this "I wanna lose 20lbs in a week" type goals but, realistic ones. What do you want your body to look like. Do you want to be muscle bound, do you want to be toned, do you just want to increase stamina, perhaps all of the above?? Perhaps talk to a trainer about setting some goals for yourself. Second stick to it. It takes time for you to start noticing results. It is not going to happen overnight but, it will happen. Third, get a subscription to a good womens workout magazine. This will help you stick to your program by motivating you every month and it will offer you new techniques every month on how to improve your workouts. Finally and the best piece of advice is to have fun doing it. Don't making working out a chore but, make it a time to have some fun. Getting into an aerobics class or working out with a friend will help working out be fun. Also an iPod will make it more fun too. I hope this helps.. Take care and have fun.

If your new gym offers some sort of orientation to the machines, take advantage of that. If not, I think it would be worth it for you to get 1 session with a personal trainer to show you through the various machines and their settings. Some people find the machines kinda intimidating, but they aren't once you know how to use them. If you find you like working with a personal trainer, keep going with that.

To get you going and keep you motivated to keep going, I'd suggest finding something that you love to do there! For me, I love getting on the elliptical machine. For some, it's weights or a great aerobics instructor or the swimming pool.

don't overdue it at first. Take some time to see what is offered. Try a few classes and see what you like. Don't do a class if you hate it. Go with a friend so you can be accountability partners (and it is more fun).
