It is a good thing that you realize that this is a problem. The first thing you should do is talk a professional. your story sounds very similar to mine. I found a therapist who I trusted and worked well with, its important you feel comfortable with this person. You can find the routes of your anxiety and some of the triggers and learn some relaxation techniques. This can really change things but if its not enough you might just have to go and see a psychiatrist. I am 22 and just put everything aside and said to myself i dont want to be like this forever and its interfering with my life, school and my relationship with my boyfriend. So I seeked help with a psychiatrist who understood me very well. I tried medication after medication and it was frustrating at first until I finally found the right one. Make sure you are totally honest with your health care providers because they can not hep you otherwise. I hope this helps, Dont give up there is help and with some times things will improve if you want them to. But a lot of it has to come from you.

You have to do the only sensible thing TO do. Go see a doctor who specializes in these extreme anxiety difficulties. It has been a very long time since there was any kind of "public shame" attached to conditions of the mind as opposed to conditions of the body. The brain is a part of the body, and there are doctors who are very good at dealing with that particular body part, and its special problems.. Go see one, and have h im give you a prescription to help you - just the same way a different specialist might give a person medicine for high blood pressure, or a damaged knee, or whatever.

Chill out! You obviously have some issue, influence or what you percieve is a threat hanging over you making you miserable. That is Bull!@#. My guess is you don't know what hardship is, there are millions of people out there literally praying they will live to see another day, that they will have a safe place to sleep or just one piece of food today, there is so much wrong and cruelty in the world you are not being thankful for everything that is going RIGHT in your life. And what makes you think everyone else lives without fear or uncertainity? No one really knows we all just hope and pray for the best. But at the end of everyday I give thanks that my life is as good as it was today, and that the people I care about are still here, and my only regret is what I didn't finish (such as because I hung out on Yahoo too much) and time I didn't spend with those important to me. If you develope a mindset that you won't enjoy life you will be miserable for the rest of yours. You have to experiment, you have to be brave, the only failure is the person who never tries. Do not worry about what other people think about you, do what you believe in your heart is right. (However if you turn criminal I disavow all knowledge). And yes I know you have a heart because otherwise you would not be so anxious about what other people think, but your confusion is a demon that every other person that ever existed has faced at some point, don't let it win. Talk about your fears with someone you trust, a family member, a teacher, a preist, maybe even a professional. But my observation has been talk to your elders, like the oldest woman you know, as they have a lot more experience when it comes to life, and most of them are glad just to have someone who will ask or listen to them. Anyone of them would give anything to trade places with you, to have their whole life yet ahead of them. And now I'll close with an old adage my grandfather used to say: "Worry is the interest you pay on trouble, BEFORE you have it." Take care and lighten up, wear a big smile, and let everyone else worry about what you are up to. Ever see that French movie "Amelie"?

I used to go through the same thing, and still do to some extent...medication might be helpful, but only as a last resort...what works for me is to realize that by taking yourself outside of situations because of anxiety, you are going to miss a lot that life has to offer....as far as other people are concerned, I learned long ago that people live in their own world, and they honestly don't think about whether you have made a good impression on them or not

pray....and then go to a doctor and explain what is going on with you....it is not good to live life an be miserable. I, too, have a lot of anxiety, and I take meds when I need them. My son has a lot of anxiety and he also takes medication. Drugs that are needed are important to take to make your life bearable. I will pray for you......Good luck. Does your family have a history of anxiety? It can be an inherited trait. My Dad, grandmother and great grandmother had the same problems that my son and I have now. Nothing to be ashamed of, but it is not good to live life an be so miserable.

I also have anxities similar to yours. I would recommend going to your family doctor and explaning your symptoms to him or her. Your doctor can prescribe medicines that will relieve your anxiety and make you feel at ease without changing who you are. I would highly suggest also to write down your anxieties and symptoms before you get to the doctor so you know what to say when you get there. Also tell your doctor how long you have been feeling like this and discuss possible treatments. Most likely he or she will prescribe you a medicine for high anxiety. It is not abnormal to have anxiety and you are not alone. There are a lot of people like you out there so dont like you are the only one. I hope this helps! God Bless. =)

Seek out a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (and no other type of practitioner) who does cognitive behavioral therapy. Very high success rate with treatment.
